I ran sort benchmark on 500 nodes and here is the data:
trunk:
* sort: 1.776 hr
* random writer: 0.459 hr
* sort validation: 0.341 hr
trunk + patch:
* sort: 1.776 hr
* random writer: 0.423 hr
* sort validation: 0.450 hr
