Yahoo! is already running real applications on clusters with thousands of nodes. No, there are no secret features, sorry :). The most I have seen in the past is that some patches that are not yet committed might be applied internally.

Acturally, we are going to build a environment of 1000 nodes based on hadoop technology before 2009. That's a tuff job, right?
