stack commented on HADOOP-2589: ------------------------------- Edward: I just tried this patch. Seems to work for me (The failure in TTI is unrelated to your patch). Shouldn't you also change hbase so that folks do './bin/hbase hql' instead of './bin/hbase shell' to run the shell (And change it in javadoc. explaining how to check your hbase)? I'd suggest that you make it so "./bin/hbase shell" continues to work so those who have come to depend on it do not get a shock and think it of-a-sudden removed. > [Hbase] Change an classes/package name from Shell to hql > -------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: HADOOP-2589 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2589 > Project: Hadoop > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: contrib/hbase > Affects Versions: 0.16.0 > Reporter: Edward Yoon > Assignee: Edward Yoon > Fix For: 0.16.0 > > Attachments: 2589.patch, 2589_v02.patch, 2589_v03.patch > > > I'd like to change an classes/package name from Shell to HQL. > * shell package -> hql package > * Add a HQLClient.java > * Add a shell package and new hbase shell feature. > * Change from HBaseShell.jj to HQLParser.jj > The Hbase Shell prompt provide the HQL query language. > Also, The HQL query can be used as describe below: > HQLClient hql = HQLClient(new HBaseConfiguration(), MASTER_ADDRESS, PORT); > ResultSet rs = hql.executeQuery("SELECT * from table"); -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online.
