I still have a suspicion that line 89 is not enough. Are there really
no characters other than "dash" that can appear in strings, but can't
appear in symbols? And somehow can turn in an attribute name for an
xml element.

I tried to search for a list of legal/illegal characters for ruby
symbols, but didn't find anything. Guess only way is to just open up
the source code for String.to_sym or something.
