Could try Mepis, currently version 7 with version 8 in betas likely to main stream soon. Version 7 is based on Debian etch (stable) and is rocked solid, Version 8 is be based on Debian Lenny (testing). Mepis has one of the best users forum (imo) and have there own community repository as well.
