It has been running for quite a long time, and I've certainly not seen it taking growing that excessively. I don't seem to have your problems with the 3.0.11 included in Fedora 10. I run lots of tabs during the day, only 2 were open when I took the top snapshot. I have lots of extensions running installed and enabled:
