After the great success of the first 2 editions, Random Hacks of
Kindness is again coming to Southampton on 1-2 June.
Sponsors include Google& Microsoft, and with talks by The Google
Developer Group, CrisismappersUK, SoMakeIt, CleanwebUK, and possibly
others it should be a great event.
The idea is that for one weekend, people working around development
(World Bank, NGOs, Oxfam, local charities, researchers, ...) sit
together with programmers/sw engineers. The development people pitch
problems they would like the software people to work on and the
software people pick a problem, form a team, and come up with a prototype.
The whole point is to come together and do something for the greater good.
