I am managing a network which is setup with several wireless W7
clients connecting via a Netgear R6300 to an XP Pro hosted share
as well as one W7 wired client.

The wireless clients can "see" the XP Pro machine in their network
window and can map to a shared folder and work just fine. The
wired client however, cannot. It can however ping the XP Pro
machine using its IP address and name.

    Any clues please?

Does this help:

Thx Peter. :) Network discovery is on.

Judging by google-land this isn't a new or an infrequent problem. None of the fixes out there that I have found seem to help. Boy I wish all the servers out there were Linux ones.

Could there be a difference in the router between the way it handles requests of wired and wireless clients?
