This is a problem a lot of breeders encounter, and the main reason why many breeders find it takes them so long to achieve their breeding goals: lack of good homes for our hamsters. Lots of us just have to keep the hamsters we produce until they live their natural lifespans or get adopted and put our breeding programs on hold until we have the room to breed again. You may find that this is what you'll have to do. Some people do choose to go the pet store route, but you cannot always rely on pet stores to take your surplus offspring. Sometimes they just don't have the room, either. Some people go the feeder route and sell their surplus offspring as feeders for reptiles, although you'll find that this practice is very controversial in most circles and tends to get emotions running high. A good rule of thumb is not to breed any hamsters if you personally do not have the space to house them, because promises of "I want a hamster from you," or "Sure, we'll take them off your hands", may evaporate when the time actually comes for them to be off in new homes. -Liz ------------------------ Yahoo!
