My comrade,

No it's not called spell checking - it's called returning English for
bad words. It's not spell checking, it's a mechanism to return English
words when I type it mixed with Vietnamese. No current IME would
prevent or whine when I type wrong spelling Vietnamese words. Nothing
whould whine when I type "sinh đẹp xững xờ."

And if you do spell checking from the IME you're doing it wrong. In
KDE I have spell (and grammar) checking on every freaking single box
on every freaking single program on every freaking language I can
imagine. Same thing to Mac. So yeah, better not do it by the IME, my
comrade.

Yeah, but having it doesn't make sense to me. Why would someone bother
to implement a feature that doesn't make sense?

Nope, it's not the IME's duty to do that. It should be the underlying
framework's duty, the GTK whatever you're using, and in my case, KDE4
to do that.
