OK. I'm thinking one solution could be to merge the code changes needed to enable the feature in order to keep the patch small and limit the review process (patches 1&2 maybe), then later merge the remains in 1.6, let people discuss it, and finally maybe backport it into 1.5-stable if there is demand. Otherwise the patch would remain small and easy to manage for you. That's just an idea, of course. Willy
