why not virtualbox? i'm quite sure even the opensource edition can run dos quite fine. i think i even have one setup up complete with networking n stuff, if you want (and i find it), i could send you that (it's basically a freedos + mslanman + i-forgot-what-tcpip, runs some custom app my mom has had for decades, which i'll rip out of course :).
