Since an antipodal path length is 12,500 miles and the error between the true antipode and the antipode proposed earlier by Mr. Giella is over 3,000 miles, I know I would not consider his example to be anywhere near antipodal.
I don't know of any previous claims that antipodal effect extend that far. I wish it did, as southeastern Africa would be most welcome here.
