The Government has said that it expects to garner over Rs 20.7 crore as entry fee from private players (in the second phase) bidding for FM radio in the Eastern Zone.
The bidding for the second phase of private FM radio in 17 cities in the Eastern Zone took place here on Friday, said a statement. In all, 59 bids were received for 66 frequencies and 48 bids qualified (prima facie). Revenues of over Rs 20.70 crore by way of one time entry fee are expected from the bidding. With this, 165 frequencies have been allotted against 206 available frequencies. In Friday's bidding, Patna received the highest bid amount at Rs 5.13 crore.
