*Mystery transmitter on 5954.1 is a 40 kW ELCOR testing in Guápiles,  
 Cantón de Pococí, eastern Costa Rica
*R. Coatán, Guatemala, 4780 detectable as late as 1438 in 
 Pennsylvania; audible as late as 1420 in Oklahoma
*R. Educación, Mexico City, heard again in daytime on a Monday around 
 1600-1700 on 6185
*Mexican domestic nets are shaking up; 1590 in Mexico City turns 
 religious, Luz 15-90 instead of Radio Tráfico
*Cuban jamming on 5980 starts before, ends well after times R. Martí 
 is on frequency
*Cuban `swisher` jamming around 1170-1190 switches back and forth to 
 carrier on 1181
*On some days, Venezuela via Cuba, 11680 at 1500 mixes poor English 
 with good Spanish
*Conozca el Ecuador program from HCJB, with folk music, heard Monday 
 2230-2300 on 12000
*unID on 4450 seems Bolivian; years ago reported as R. Frontera, 
 Cobija [later: Carlos Gonçalves, Portugal says it as R. Eco, Reyes]
*R. Parinacota, Putre, Chile, 6010, in Quechua, DXed nearby in 
 Argentina
*Radio Sawa, US Arabic service heard back on shortwave 9370, 
 apparently by mistake instead of R. Deewa, as R. Aap ki Dunya, VOA 
 Urdu service goes off SW
*Clandestine/pirate R. Arctica, 6275.5, heard again Saturday at 2112-
 2127; next day until 2055, a ``Radio Africa`` may also be this
*CFRX, Toronto, 6070, antenna tower was knocked down by bobcat; 
 expected back on air shortly
*CBA, Moncton NB, 1070 to close MW April 5, but could be extended; 
 station already IDs as FM 106.1

*Littoral AM, France, reported to have revived 1593 kHz but now in 
 DRM; Germany also DRM on 1593
*R. Romania International heard in English until 1855 on 4790: 9640

 on January`s RUI DX program
*Algeria using R. Qur`an service to combat terrorism, with Islam-based 
 arguments against it. That could explain why HFCC files this SW 
 service under USA
*Monitoring Nigerian MW from Uganda, only 756 kHz was audible
*Cairo and Equatorial Guinea colliding at times on 6250
*R. Candip, Congo DR, 5066.329, heard in Sweden until 1630
*R. Kahuzi, Congo DR, 6210, heard in Sweden 1725-1800
*RNA, Angola, 4950, all-night, widely reported in North America
*R. Madagascar, 5010, also well-heard on air late or all-night
*V. of Turkey, Romanian at 1000-1030 heard on 10560 instead of 9560

*V. of Kurdistan, English at 1600-1700 on 6335, has been mistaken for 
 V. of Turkey with unclear ID; has also QSLed quickly by E-mail
*V. of Communist Party of Iran at 1705 on 3880.6, 4365.9; also on 4285 
 at 0450. Another related clandestine, V. of Iranian Revolution on 
 4365.75 from 1426
*No R. Tashkent in English, from Uzbekistan, but VOLMET heard in 
 English at 1440 on 4663-SSB
*Azad Kasmir Radio Trarkhel, transmitted from Rawalpindi, heard on 
 7265 at 1150-1215
*Bangladesh Betar, 7250, heard in Ontario, English at 1230
*Myanmar has new service on MW 594, also on SW 5986 at least at 0000-
 0130, believed to be Padauk Myay for youth
*Lineup of Hmong Laotian clandestines at 0100-0200 on 15260 via Taiwan 
 depends on day of week [add another: Haiv Hmoob Radio 0100-0130 Tue 
*Radio St. Gabriel, Papua New Guinea, 4960, audible in California 
 0925-1300
*Wantok Radio Light, PNG, 7325, weakly audible in California after 
 1030
*ARDS, Northern Territory, Australia, planned to reactivate 5050 by 
 end of January
