May 16,  abrupt sign on with continuous Spanish pop ballads. On
5954.20 at sign on,  drifting down to 5954.18 by 2320. Poor in noisy

** CUBA. 702v kHz, Radio Rebelde, 0255-0315+, May 16, slightly
wobbly,  unstable transmitter drifting up from nominal 700 kHz. Weak
but readable.  Local music. Spanish talk. // 540, 670, 710. Thanks to

** SUDAN.  7200, SRTC, *0238-0335+, May 16, sign on with  Qur`an
followed by Arabic talk. Some local music. Chirping bird. Good  signal
strength but co-channel QRM from a weaker Iran. In the clear  after
