Firedrake Nov 12: 8400, JBA at 1322; fair by 1343 when I am also getting it on 9350 9350, good at 1343. Gone at 1457 recheck 10500, JBA at 1322, but less so than on 8400; same at 1343 9350 is an unusual spot, but must have been irresistible for unheard Sound of Hope, as nothing at all is scheduled there except WWCR at 21-23 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. Now we know what became of RHC`s short-lived new frequency 15390: moved to 15230! Nov 11 at 1920 there is RHC // 11760 but an echo apart, also // 12040, 11730, 11690 but at this time not heard on 15360/15370/15380/15390. 15230 was a prime RHC frequency until abandoned many years ago; not clear why Arnie would move 15390 back to 15230 now. In fact, it`s on as early as 1411 Nov 12, QRMing CRI English via Sackville which has been on this B-season frequency for years! CRI way on top, but I manage to // the QRM audio underneath with 15360 an echo apart at 1450, when the 15230 RHC signal has gained a little on CRI; Commies vs Commies! 15230 may have seemed attractive as nothing else is scheduled there 15-22, but CRI is on it at 13-15 and Australia at 22-24, so RHC should only use it between 15 and 22. Perhaps RHC is still experimenting, as Nov 10 at 1138, Mark the Dark Coady in Ontario logged RHC on a slightly different unlisted frequency, 15235 // 6095. Then at 1545 Nov 12 checking the RHC schedule presented in Spanish at http://www.radiohc.cu/espanol/c_frecuencia/frecuencias.htm I find it does show 15230 now in Spanish: to Buenos Aires at 11-23 and 00-05, breaking for Portuguese in between. Anything else new on it? English 11760 at 20-21 on this version is destined for Central America, rather than N/C/SAm, and no English for Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** GUATEMALA. 4052.5-, R. So where on the radio may we hear news from KJRH-8 and KTUL-10? KRMG has added an FM relay, but not KFAQ, backward. May I suggest that traffic reporting, at least, is more appropriate from radio stations to be quoted by TV stations, as there are few TVs in cars, and no one can hear `channel 6` on FM any more. No, it`s YFR, now scheduled via Ascension at 01-02, so the Haitians have a choice between Commies and Christians, as Lavwadlamerik (VOA) abandoned expanded Kriyol last April, another victim of the quake, having decided that no one was listening to SW in Haiti, not even the VOA Creole sesquihour daily which existed previously (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1538: first airing confirmed on WRMI Thursday Nov 11 after 1600 UT on webcast; but no first airing on WBCQ, 7415 Thursday at shifted time of 2000 --- instead last week`s 1537 replayed. Reception on 7415 was so poor I had to check the webcast to confirm which show it was. So WBCQ listeners would have to wait until the next scheduled airing on Tuesday?! Rather, tnx to Larry Will of Area 51, WOR will get a temporary replay Sunday nights, UT Mondays 0300-0330 on 5110, but only during November while Pirates` Week is on vacation. We hope some other time(s) on WBCQ can be found permanently. We thought WOR was missing again from our only scheduled time on WWRB, UT Friday 0430 on 3185, since we checked the webcast first and were hearing Bible readings, but later on 3185 WOR was playing correctly. Seems the webcast was perhaps confused by the timeshift. WOR is supposed to be on the `stream` link, not the `stream2` link, but this time Bible was on both. Also confirmed on WRMI Friday at 1530. Look for next airing Friday at new standard time of 2130 UT which means WWCR is on 7465 instead of 15825. 15 MHz has long range coverage, 7465 best at closer range, and should make for very good reception in most of North America, but how about Europe, Africa? Then on WWCR: Sat 1700 on 12160; UT Sun 0330 on 4840, 0730 on 3215, times now shifted one UT hour later. Checking WWCR website for latest frequency changes, I see that the replacement for short-lived 3255 is not only 7465 at 23-01, but also 7490 at 01-02 --- that`s because VOA Spe-cial Eng-lish is already on 7465 at 0130-0200 Tue-Sat. Furthermore, following complaints of QRMoscow on 7290, IRRS has changed the frequency at 19-20 to 6090, effective Nov 13, including WORLD OF RADIO at 1900 Saturdays. Rossii music with motorboating not too bad on 6075, and 8GAL CQ/V marker starts at 1359:20 overlapping RR, ending with K just before the TOH timesignal starts. Then mixing with the motorboating carrier which stays on about a minute, and something in Chinese, i.e. ChiCom CNR1 jamming of R. Taiwan International starting at 1400 in Chinese, but thus also jamming CRI`s Urdu service as scheduled via Kashgar, EAST TURKISTAN, inaudible here, ChiComs vs ChiComs (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 7210, Nov 12 at 0549, am hearing noise and warbling, apparent jamming. HFCC shows a logjam here: VOR Moscow 0000-0600, AIR Kolkata 0230-1215, CRI Arabic via Albania 0500-0700, and RRI in Russian 0530-0600 (not DRM)! Yet I suspect what I hear has something to do with the Erithiopian radio war, as Aoki adds 7210 as a VOBME frequency, HFCC ignored (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 15480: I recently remarked that the best window in Europe for LRA36 on 15476 should be 1355-1430 UT when nothing is scheduled on 15480 after Turkey and before Democratic V of Burma via Armenia --- but Nov 12 at 1412 there is a weak signal on 15480 with talk, flutter. Still nothing on schedules, but maybe DVB start time has been earlied?
