CUBA 4765 R. Progreso 0046 noted w/LA Pops. Again on return at 0108. 0125 canned "RP" ID, then into nx. 0127 reporter w/R. Progreso ID ending her report. 0129 nx end and promo, then 0129:45 ID and TC, and another canned. Audio a bit distorted. Decent strength from this new 50kw xmtr. Just about as strong as Rebelde and nowhere near as strong as RHC. (3 Oct.)
No sign of 4755.5 The Cross today at 0944, or Tarma at 1014. (3 Oct.) CLANDESTINE 4557 V.O. the People 1058 choral song. Deadair break at the end of the song, 1100 pres. ID anmnt by M in KR. Jamming slight. Was definitely better on the Wellbrook than on the Delta Loop before 1100, but just the opposite after. (3 Oct.) ITALY 9510 IRRS 0838 tlk feature w/M and W, then "Dog and Butterfly" by Heart. 0845 addr for Nexus in Milan Italy by M; then into nx abt the ACA and government shutdown and other world nx stories from FSN. More mx at 0850. 0900 M w/ID and QSL info, and off at 0900:37. Very weak and very fady. Wasn't really getting any better. (5 Oct.) CANADA 6160.064 CKZU Found on this off-freq at 0932 abt equal to 6159.967 CKZN. CKZN came way up on top a few min. later. Both abt equal again at 0941. Looked like there was another signal on 6159.972. (5 Oct.) CLANDESTINE 6348 Echo of Hope 0957 end of pleasant Pop song, instru. Pop mx and M voice-over anmnt, a few words by W sandwiched by choral singing, then 0959 fanfare and M anncr tlk, and the jamming returned at 0959:51. 6518 and 6600 V.O. the People were unjammed too, but then jammed starting abt the same time as 6348. At 1101 found this was in the clear again. Checked the V.O. the People and MND and those freqs were clear also. Alternating M and W on this freq until the jamming started again at 1106:14. Interestingly enough, 6518 and 6600 were the first where jamming returned at 1104:29, followed by 6348 and 6480 at 1106:14. Don't know about 6003, 4557, 3912, or 3480. (5 Oct.) UNID. 4709_99 UNID. A couple canned anmnts in SP (record 1002:45, 1003:30) then back to mx. Audible at times over the next 20 min. and a fair peak at 1017 but during mx of course. Ranchera mx again noted at 1039. Had conditions been good this morning (it was poor overall), the anmnts at 1002-1003 might have been quite readable. (5 Oct.) Only PNGs noted this morning, besides Wantok, were 3260 and 3325. The others weren't on. (5 Oct.) SOUTH KOREA 6480 MND R. Signal on the air at 1103:12, then pgming began abt a min. later w/Pop-like ballad by W vcl. Jamming abruptly started then at 1106:14. (5 Oct.) MYANMAR 9730 Myanmar R. 1125 found here w/Asian Pop vcl by W //7200.09. 1129 W anncr, short instru., then W again. Definitely was NOT // at 1133 though w/W in pres. nx and soundbites while 7200.09 was playing an upbeat Pop song. This freq went off then at 1133:35. (5 Oct.) CLANDESTINE 17870 R. Inyabutatu (via Bulgaria) Signal on at 1659:27, deadair, then pgm start w/fanfare, and guitar IS, and right into tlks. All discussion for the entire pgm. 1756 anncr ment of Inyabutatu (although the "Inya" part doesn't seem to be pronounced), website www.radioinyabutatu.com twice, ment of "kilohertz" and "meterband", then what appeared to be a reference to some of the countries they've been heard: Rwanda, Malawai, Zambia, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Canada, and "America". Audio suddenly stopped at 1759 and signal gone. Fair signal w/heavy fading.
