FRANCE Checked Radio Biafra, 9580 kHz at 1900 UT
{here for the first time}.
Yes, - according signal strength observation and propagation
is tentativelly both RMI FMO organized by Mr. Jeff White as
7240 kHz 05-06 UT TDF ISS 100 kW 170degrees towards 46S,47N,47SW,52NW
same at
9580 kHz 19-20 UT TDF ISS 100 kW 170degrees towards 46S,47N,47SW,52NW.
Due of dead skip zone nearby in Europe only less than fair S=6-7
or -88dBm strength - or less - here in England, Belgium and Germany,
but far away
in Doha Qatar S=9 or -74dBm strength on 9580 kHz, Biafra ID at 1903 UT.
TX on air 18.59:40 UT, fluttery signal in Europe.
I guess powerhouse down on Equator in Sahel, Sahara, Nigeria
as S=9+30 to +40dB powerful.
But poor signals noted in NoAmerica east coastline
on 9580 kHz in FL, MI and NJ-USA remotes only S=4,
compared to 31mb RMI 9395 and 9955 kHz who are S=9+30dB at least instead.

Tonight, the signal is VERY STRONG in Twente [S9 +30 or close to],
female announcer reading frequencies, 7240 in 41mB and 11530 in 25mB.
At a quick check this seems so far to be the only content of this stunt:
These frequency announcements for "Radio Biafra, broadcasting from
London", alternating in presumed Igbo and heavily accented, in fact broken
English. Of course (and indeed!) not the real Radio Biafra which can be
heard, right now with a phone conversation in usual style, via
http://app.tvipob.co:1935/radio/Radio1/playlist.m3u8
And indeed 9580, which gets a quite crappy feed, is very strong.
Definitely no transmitter in the western hemisphere, as an often quoted
source speculates.
11580 seems to be Bruder Treppe
Who for its part is much, much stronger on 11600, registered as Kostinbrod
which would have to use the webstream in case MX1 (his eastern hemisphere
uplinker, now a subsidiary of SES) pulls really the plug on him.

Nothing on 7240, much weaker // signal on 11530. 11580 seems to be
Bruder Treppe, stronger than 11530 but much weaker than 9580. So 9580
very likely to be Euro-Relay.

BIAFRA [non]. 9580, Nov 19 at 1909, R. Biafra via unknown site,
after a JBA carrier here, I get a little more via UTwente SDR. Main
frequency 11530 WRMI is good as usual on my radio. 9580 is VP at
UTwente, but sounds like same programming of music alternating with
announcements by YL; at 1911 it`s the OM, the only one who mentions
the ``31 meter band`` 9580 in schedule announcements. 1913 back to YL
voice. On UTwente, I A/B the two frequencies, and believe it or not,
poor as it is, 9580 is better than 11530 (and 11580, WRMI aimed right
at Europe is no better). I`ve asked Jeff where 9580 is coming from.
There is no sign of anything else, such as listed Saudi Arabians.
Possibly 9580 is still Issoudun, but skipping over UTwente, too close
and way offbeam. But if so, Ivo should be getting it OK. Wolfgang
Bueschel, Germany does not hear 9580 at all.
Ivo Ivanov reports on same transmission:
``Poor signal of Radio Biafra London in 31 & 25 mb on Nov 19
http://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.bg/2017/11/poor-signal-of-radio-biafra-london-in.html
1900-2000 9580 unknown tx / unknown WeAf English, not via TDF/ISS
1900-2000 11530 YFR 100 kW / 087 deg WeAf English, via WRMI tx#10?``

about this reactivation:

``Radio Biafra Returns; Resumes Daily Broadcast
By David Oputah - November 11, 2017
BEVERLY HILLS, November 11, (THEWILL) – After a lull of a few months,
during which Nigerian security agencies breathed an air of relief,
there are incontrovertible indications that the clandestine Radio
Biafra will resume activities Sunday November [sic].
The rogue radio station is the mouth piece of Indigenous People of
Biafra (IPOB) led by Nnamdi Kanu whose whereabouts is unknown
following a clamp down on his family home in Abia state by the
military under operation Python Dance.
THEWILL gathered exclusively that the radio will continue to broadcast
from London, England, ostensibly to escape the reach of Nigeria’s
security agencies who will track it down without much effort if it was
based in Nigeria.
The information circulating within the IBOP circle recently has
pointed to the feverish plans and concerted efforts to reactivate the
Radio Biafra and make its voice heard again to prove that the despite
the security agencies’ show of strength recently during the Operation
Python Dance and the like, that IPOB is not as dead as it appears.
THEWILL checks further revealed that the broadcast will from Sunday be
on air from 6 am to 7 am on 7240 KHZ, 41 meter-band, short wave and in
the evenings from 8pm to 9pm on 11530 KHZ on 25 meter band.

From THEWILL, searching on Radio Biafra, more stories, the first one
here from one day later (and why are these datelined Beverly Hills, or
San Francisco, of all places?):
https://thewillnigeria.com/news/radio-biafra-returns-sacks-nnamdi-kanu-as-ipob-leader/
And that`s only the first page of 13; however, some of further hits
may have less to do with the radio in particular.
