SPAIN, Radio Exterior de Espa?a have problems with its 15390 frequency
for long time, the audio is very distorted and almost unintelligible.
Months ago I sent an email to the station communicating the fault, but
was not repaired.

Please, send your complains to secretariatecnica....@rtve.es

I got a small packages from Kuwait today. A couple of observations:

A.) It had clearly been opened and inspected, no attempt whatsoever to hide
it, tidy that up.....

B.) No QSL card from Radio Kuwait, just a calendar. Hey, I'm happy.. it's
SOMETHING... I'd been trying to get a response out of them for MONTHS!!

C.) They addressed the package to me by taking a letter I'd sent them, and
right below my signature, cutting off the address part and taping that to
the envelope.

I am not complaining, it is something for sure, and more then I had before!!

** AUSTRALIA [and non]. 5055, March 15 at 1318, S3-S5 trace of modulation,
presumed 4KZ, but louder QRM from Spanish 2-way 5055-USB.

5045, March 15 at 1319, still no signal here from Ozy Radio, so check:

4835, March 15 at 1320, JBA carrier weaker than 5055, probably SIKKIM, but QRX
for Ozy to upshow here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. 7205, March 15 at 1344, after a trace on 7120 from Somaliland, is
this Sudan longpath? No, in Chinese, so CRI as scheduled from Beijing site. PBS
Xinjiang, Urumqi in Uighur is also scheduled, but per Aoki no Sudan until 1430.
Note there are only two U`s in Urumqi (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15439, 15301, 15232, approx., March 15 at 1425, only extremely
distorted spurblobs audible out of 15370-AM RHC, not too strong and none of
them with any good audio even in FM mode. The lower one QRMs 15230-AM other RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH [and non]. 5917.764v, March 15 at 1325, music and then Korean
talk, from Voice of Freedom, varying lower and ever lower, now below 5918 from
nominal 5920. On March 12 I had it about 5918.2075, but on March 13 Wolfgang
B?schel and Ron Howard found it missing, while Ron had a carrier on 6045
believed to be it.

I check 6045 now at 1341 to find a huge pileup of CNR1 jamming vs VOA Thailand;
it would be suicide for VOF to be or stay there. By 1421 recheck, VOF has
weakened and now there is ACI from/to 5920, presumably Iran just starting its
Hindi hour eastward; which could be VOF motivation to get away from it. Also
JBA signal on 5915 which could be Myanmar and/or CRI. VOF is only 10 kW ND from
Hwaesong (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) see also UNIDENTIFIED 6135

** MEXICO. 650, March 15 at 1244, hard-sell adstring starting with Fruter?a
Sergio, somewhere in Sinaloa, 687-prefix phones. It`s Radio 65, XETNT, Los
Mochis, signal exploding like, like ---? And at this hour the only significant
Mexican below 1050 XEG which is already weakening, losing out. Reconfirms that
XETNT really gets out by skywave. Just after our Enid sunrise at 1242 UT today,
heading for equinox time of *1232, i.e. 32 minutes west of the CST central
meridian which ought to put us in the UT -7 zone; plus an hour of DST (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 960-, March 15 at 1251 UT, I notice that when nulled as much as
possible, local KGWA Enid has CCI from some off-key music, indicating an
off-frequency station. (It`s been a long time since I`ve managed to log
anything thru KGWA, which used to facilitate that with a frequent 5-minute
Fox-hole of dead air at local midnight.)

But stepping 10 kHz on the DX-398 with offset USB BFO, it`s evident that the
off-frequency station, slightly on the low side, is KGWA itself! I.e., a
slightly lower het pitch from it than from stations on adjacent frequencies..

So then I switch to the R-75 with max attenuation, no preamps to attempt to
measure KGWA like I do for various SW stations off-frequency. Closest I come up
with is 959.9955, i.e. 4.5 Hz or 3 sesquiHz below. In computing a receiver
readout correxion factor, I rely upon KTOK to be exactly on 1000.0000, perhaps
an exaggerated accuracy (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SLOVAKIA [non]. 9455, March 15 at 1422, secret Spanish from Slovakia is
still being heard during this semihour via WRMI; discussion of the commie era
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, March 15 at 1317, here`s WTWW-2 again way beyond evening hours,
with perpetual parasites 5072.1 & 5097.9, Bob Heil mentioning organ, but then
about antennas. He`s in a long monolog. Still going at 1422 as Ted is
interviewing him on a ham show playback (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** UZBEKISTAN [non]. 4790, March 15 at 1322, poor signal in presumed Uzbek
talk, as BBC via TAJIKISTAN is scheduled at 1300-1330, grayline. Also *jammed
by the ChiCom, per Aoki/NDXC, and as Ron Howard observes, the jammer, at least
a carrier, is often on way early by 1230; not to be confused with Per? or
something else. How considerate of the ChiCom to do this; does the Uzbekistan
regime have a problem with the BBC? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6135, March 15 at 1342, rather rough carrier amid the North
Korean noise jamming adding up to S6-S8. I`m leaning toward this being part of
the 250 kW jamming transmitter or the other Voice of Freedom transmitter,
rather than unmodulated Madagascar longpath (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

Subject: [WOR] Radio Exterior de Espa?a distorted on 15390 for long time

  Manuel M?ndez
  Lugo, Spain

SPAIN, Radio Exterior de Espa?a have problems with its 15390 frequency for
long time, the audio is very distorted and almost unintelligible.
Months ago I sent an email to the station communicating the fault, but was
not repaired.

Please, send your complains to secretariatecnica....@rtve.es
