There are good equipment sale sites/forums at qth.com and qrz.com. Mostly for
ham gear, but general SW receivers often are offered. You will, of course,
likely need to register for these forums in order to post.

That said, I don't see anything wrong with occasional posting here, as long as
others don't see it as permission to turn this into a swaplist.

Now at 1949 UT Russian 9604.592 kHz is much better stronger modulated,
little scratchy sound,
but on 'understandable' level.

German sce on 9569.997 kHz is still under-modulated at 1951 UT.

EGYPT Both 9569.997 and 9604.592 were switched OFF exact at 20.00 UT.

R Cairo in French at 2003 UT heard a very low modulated signal on
9894.579 kHz. S=9+35dB powerhouse here in southern Germany.
Flute and drums traditional Arabic orchestra performed.
22 kHz wideband signal seen on Perseus software screen.

Re Time Signal from Cairo

> Timesignal late about 2116 (with web delay too). (gh)

Noted a Cairo Time signal earlier at
19.15:17 UT last pip of serie, followed by their music R Cairo ID theme
then.

Also at 22.15:22 UT last tone pip. Followed by Newscast, female presenter.

Powerhouse Radio Cairo Abis tonight, is similar strength
compared at same 22.20 UT time span like
9640 kHz CRI Kashgar in Spanish, 500 kW ! of power.

22.40:15 UT Abis TX-off.

NOTHING observed yet on v9710 kHz Portuguese scheduled towards Brazil.

GREECE but heard lovely Greek folk music, on both
9935.011 S=9+35dB at 2240 UT, female folk music singer, and

9420.002 kHz S=9+45dB or -27dBm.

EXCELLENT SW signals reached central Europe tonight,
either from Pacific, East Asia, Udorn Thani,
Cairo, Emirler and Cuba 11760 too !!!

EGYPT and now R Cairo's English sce heard 2115 til break at 2130 UT on
9799.585 kHz exact, tremendous S=9+50dB -24dBm ! powerhouse,
overmodulated, but English content could be recognized easily so far.

At 2134 UT were back on air, long lasting newscast could be heard.

2144 UT Arabic music orchestra played in Egyptian style.

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, Friday April 6 at 1900, WRMI switches from music to
the RAE sounder introducing presumed German still in effect; very poor here
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BANGLADESH. 15505, April 6 at 1413, Bangladesh Betar Urdu service music at
S7-S8 with flutter. RHC spur permitting, one of these days I`ll catch the
*1400v BB mis-timesignal (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 245 kHz, April 6 at 0547, ND beacon YZE and dash, which is 1000
watts from Gore Bay, Ontario. This reference has replaced ``class`` with axual
powers of stations, handy:
http://www.dxinfocentre.com/ndb.htm
It`s the first one tuning up the band (besides 216 CLB of course), that I can
hear well enough to ID, and it`s a JBA strain vs the storm noise level, takes
me at least a minute of concentration (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. 11900, April 6 at 1417, CNR1 Chinese echo-jammer, S9/S9+10 with
flutter, against unheard VOA Chinese via Philippines; CRI Sinhala service from
Jinhua site is also scheduled, unheard either (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15296-15306, April 6 at 1310, RHC spur from 15370 is weak and diffuse,
will not demodulate in FM or AM modes; another one around 15437, and that`s it
for today. They need some work; something`s always wrong at RHC. 1333 recheck
they have tightened up a bit and more readable in AM circa 15439, 15509, 15301,
15231 (vs 15230 non-spur). 1414 recheck, 15370 is still S9+30 but no spurs
audible. Where`d they go? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9894.57, April 6 at 2019, Qur`an alternating with French
translations, distorted, so R. Caire is definitely on the air. There had been
doubts as various scheduled transmissions had been unheard in Europe; but
Wolfgang B?schel was also getting some earlier languages today. I heard this
direct, but at 2045 I`m on the UTwente SDR at 9894.58 for more distorted
French. Recheck at 2112 it`s already off, but 2113, 9799.57 is on for the 2115
English broadcast, with a timesignal 58 seconds late, almost 2116 but that
includes web delay, into music. Later presumed English talk with intolerable
distortion. Wolfie later found this transmitter off the air part of the time
rather than straight thru to 2245. Another broadcast supposed to start at 2330
in Arabic to South America on 9660, but no sign of it here at 2350 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH. 5917.399v, April 6 at 1305, very poor carrier from Voice of
Freedom, drifted down to here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11530, April 6 at 1849 algo JBA; 1857 singing could be
Kurdish; nothing on 9525; 1900 YL announcement; no sign of Herwa via WRMI ---
see NIGERIA [non]; 2023 still JBA, 2046 Kurdish? music, 2057 anthem? And a bit
more music to 2100*. Aoki/NDXC shows current complete schedule of Deng? Welat
is:
 9525 at 0230-0500 via France
11530 at 0500-1400 via Moldova
11530 at 1400-1900 via France
11530 at 1900-2100 via Moldova
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NIGERIA [non]. 11530, April 6 at various chex between 1900 and 2000, no
signal from WRMI for R. Herwa International, so not at 1900-1930 or 1930-2000;
a weak signal however from Denge Welat: see KURDISTAN [non]. Nothing audible on
11625 either, the // for Herwa via France. Nor was Ivo Ivanov hearing 11625,
and found 11530 totally blocked by Welat.

So is it gone for good? Or moved without notice? This has all been rather
mysterious; did we ever have any contact info? When first discovered, I found a
website by the name Herwa which seemed to be related, but no mention of a
broadcast, and now that website is gone:
http://herwacdi.com.ng

Herwa was also slow to appear on the WRMI transmission skedgrid, and not on the
Programming page now, nor do I think it ever was:
http://wrmi.net/index.php/programming/

Aha, Herwa has now been removed from the transmission schedule ex-1930 on
11530. Another big change to:
http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs
is that 9955 at 160 degrees has been moved from XMTR 4 to XMTR 10! (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, April 6 at 2359, super-patriotic recitation, sounds
familiar, S9 to S9+10; off at 0005 April 7 recheck.
Many more logs of it as unID:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,41585.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6905-AM, April 7 at 0001, S9 with music, hard some more at
0015-0018* but no ID. These say it was Seven Trees Radio, intermittently:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,41582.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6924.206-AM, April 7 at 0006, pirate music. Off at recheck
0015. These say it was Captain Morgan Shortwave:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,41584.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 326 kHz, April 6 at 1052, ND beacon MA, which is 400 watts from
Midland, Texas; vs storm crashes. May be only one I have heard from nearby Baja
Oclahoma (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1924 monitoring: confirmed Friday April 6 at
2345 the 2330 on WBCQ 9329.694V-CUSB. Consistently good signal lately compared
to previous weeks; power boost? But now it`s off-frequency-minus instead of
+plus. Next:

** U S A. 9455, April 6 at 1053, JBA carrier, no change past 1100. Since
nothing else is scheduled, I suspect WRMI is really on air in the 1000-1100
hour, including DX programs but not really propagating. After 1100, 9955 also
has a JBA carrier, and 5950 a very poor carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST) See also ARGENTINA; NIGERIA

** U S A. 7490.05v-AM, much better than 5129.8v-AM here vs storm noise, UT Sat
April 7 at 0003, WBCQ with `Allan Weiner Worldwide` starting off denying
climate change since it`s wintry in Maine and hot in Florida. I`m distracted by
Tim Cook on MSNBC and various real pirates below 7 MHz; back at 0019 he`s again
justifying keeping Brother Scare on the air, because 1) he`s an old friend and
Allan is loyal, promised to keep him on; 2) he`s currently a free man and
innocent until proven guilty; and 3) of course Free Speech is what WBCQ is all
about. Has been frixion at station, as a member of the crew threatened to quit
if BS stayed on, but AW apparently mollified him. BS has resumed paying for
airtime. Allan will be 65 next month. At 0034 there were some brief carriers on
7490.0 causing a low audible heterodyne. Over to John Carver for a more
complete report:

``Show started on time this evening after a period of dead air. Listening on
5130 again this evening. Allan and Angela still in FLA. In the past Allan has
returned to Maine in April so will probably travel North soon.

Opening discussion of nonexistent global warming. Complaining about the heat in
Florida and the colder temps in Maine. Says the station got three inches of
snow yesterday. Promises that pictures of the new construction at the station
will be appearing soon. Says he wants the new super station up and operating by
September eighth which would be WBCQ`s anniversary.

Allan stated that he's been taking a lot of heat over Brother Stair and that it
has caused a lot of friction between himself and the staff of late. It forced
him to have a discussion with one of his staff who threatened to quit. Allan
explained to the staff member that he was keeping Brother Stair on for three
reasons. One, he is his friend. Two, no matter how terrible the charges are
they are just charges. Brother Stair has not been found guilty in a court of
law yet and he is innocent until the court does find him guilty. Three, it's
still a free speech station and he will continue to carry people on the radio
who hold opinions that not everyone else agrees with. Stated that he hoped
history proved that he was both fair and loyal to his principles.

Talk then shifted briefly to antique automobiles again but quickly moved to a
discussion of driverless cars as he read a magazine article about same. Phone
call at 0048 from Dave in Indiana continued the discussion of driverless cars
and then some other topics. Dave stayed on the phone till signoff almost and
Allan was cut off as he was trying to close the show at 0059 and a half. Then
dead air until Brother Stair started at 0104. Could not hear any low talk this
week during the dead air portion of our evening. John Mid-North Indiana``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9487.96 & 9462.04, April 6 at 2012, matching weak spurs out of 9475.0
WTWW, i.e. 12.96 kHz above and below fundamental --- just like we always hear
attached to 5085 WTWW-2 whenever it is on the air, but never noticed before
flanking the WTWW-1 transmitter on 9475 or 5830 --- suspect they swapped axual
transmitters, as #2 may be working better than #1. It will be interesting to
compare #2 and #1 frequencies if both be on air simultaneously forthwith. The
lower one first noticed as unexpected het to 9460 Turkey.

That was on the NRD; April 6 at 2351 I repeat measurements with more precision
on the Icom: 9462.051 and 9487.949, i.e. plus/mnus 12.949 kHz, while the
fundamental comes out right on 9475.000 --- another clue, since the old WTWW-1
was habitually off-frequency-minus (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
