Recheck 1742 via Maryland remote: 15140 & 11760 still absent. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9440.000, June 9 at 2225, R. Cairo English sesquihour from 2115 is not off the air, S9+40/45 into UTwente, but very overmodulated & distorted; after 2230 bits of Qur`aning interspersed with plain talk, translations or explanations? Violating Separation Of Mosque And State. Others have reported R. Cairo lately as more or less listenable; not for me. 2244 mod stops, stays on with dead air except for frying sound to 2245.7* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GERMANY. 18116 USB, June 9 at 2015, DK5DL concluding a contact who addressed him as Walter. I thought he had said VK5DL which would be South Australia. QRZ.com agrees DK5DL is Walter but no further info. Hit this one on 16m after virtually no activity on the 10, 11, 12, 14 m bands. Excuse me for more correct metric conversions than standard for hams (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KURDISTAN [non]. 17470, June 9 at 2018, Turkish? music at S1/S3, rather late for any signal at all from Recep`s jammer; while 17480 JBA talk must be the missed target Deng? Welat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 7400.6 approx., JBA carrier at 0630 June 9, probably Eastern Star pirate, who admitted to Ron Howard he was only running a few watts; 25 watts would be an increase to relatively high power (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 89.1 MHz, June 9 at 1818 UT, K206CA, 205-watt gospel huxter translator in Enid is OFF, opening a frequency for DX. If only Es MUF would ascend. Now I`m hearing on caradio public radio talk, no doubt KMUW Wichita which used to reach Enid with no such blockage. WTFDA says it relays 90.5 KNYD of the so-called Oasis Network, but no way it can be picked up from Broken Arrow in a direct relay as 90.5 is occupied here by nearby KGVV Goltry with a different g.h. net, My Praise FM. That is a relay of 88.7 KLVV Ponca City which used to have a near-local signal here but is now blocked by yet another g.h. translator which recently jumped from 88.3 to 88.7. They all try to occupy as many channels as possible to block others, especially anything secular, like public radio, from having a voice. O o, at 2121 recheck K206A is back on (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 100.9, June 10 at 0058 UT, dead air from KGWA 960 translator Enid; bandscanning due to 106 MUF reports with OK at the edge, but no DX to be heard here and now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 15520, Friday June 9 at 2200, today`s frequency missing for token English from SNR; neither direct nor into UTwente, while 17855, 17715 and even 11670 remain. Starts with only 3 minutes of news, 2203 report from Beirut about tobacco and smoking in Lebanon, 2205 major feature Justin interviewing a Sidron -- same as a few days ago or a different one. Something`s not right at Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785, June 9 at 2200 and later chex, NO signal direct nor into UTwente from VOT, English for us astray. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2194 monitoring: confirmed first SWBC, Friday June 9 at 1430 on WRMI 9955 direct, as usual at this daypart, VP S4/S7 but declining to JBA by 1448; at least no jamming audible. Also confirmed Friday June 9 after 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S9+15/20 into nearby Noale SDR, atop usual understation music presumably Smooth Radio, Brighton, England, UQKOGBANI, and occasional storm crashes. 2059 fragment of a song, why? and IRRS ``sign-off`` until 9 pm CE[D]T tomorrow and as always keeps right on going with Feature Story News; really off around 2110. Tnx to IRRS for playing the newest WOR unlike last week. (7490-), UT Sat June 10 from 0000, WBCQ webcasst with `AAAWWW`. Main topix: blaming ``moonbats`` forest fires and smoke; phone-phreaking starting in grade school. 5130 can be brought back at any time, but needs enough paid programming to cover increasing electric expenses. 3265 transmitter is ``ginormous high-power` but needs 6-12 hours of paid programming to justify running it. Only on 7490 and 6160 tonight. 0020 datestamp as 9th of June live from DeLand of Fla. Angela is there but hardly says a word. Allan will be celebrating his 70th birthday on Monday June 12 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, June 9 at 0626, after a spate of regularity, NO signal now from R. Vanuatu, nor on other possibilties 5040, 7890, 11835. In the British DX Club, Tony Rogers agrees at 2106 June 9: ``After several days of good reception being reported of Radio Vanuatu on 7260 kHz between 1830v UTC sign-on and 1100v UTC sign-off (with seemingly no frequency changes in-between), it appears that they are missing again with no trace of them today (9 June) from 1830 UTC on 7260 kHz or their two alternative frequencies of 3945 (and harmonics) and 5040 kHz (checked using the Brisbane KiwiSDR in Australia). 73's Tony`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4755, June 9 at 0623 I happen to be here during a routine bandscan noting CODAR when I hear that Morse code ID fire, presumably the last of 3x, so not copied, but probably same one as IDed before; so just reconfirming the timing of +23 so also +43 and +03 past the hours. I could also tell it was quite broad like the CODAR swirshes, not just on this precise frequency. Also seemed the CODAR itself paused during ID, but not sure (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0123 UT June 10 End of Hard-Core-DX Digest, Vol 246, Issue 10 *********************************************
