OMAN/SINGAPORE Not Singapore Kranji, but just before the beginning of the
UT July 14 at 0300 UT BBCWS transmission via Oman on 12095 kHz, I heard a
bit more of the special announcement.
The first part was cut off due to an azimuth change,but the remainder said
"? you will no longer hear us on this shortwave frequency. You can listen
to the BBC 24hours a day at BBCWorldService.com." Judging from the similar
announcement via Singapore, it is likely the missing part was "This is the
BBC World Service. Starting (date)?" then the rest of the message.
The announcement is inserted over the usual promo that runs at 0259:30 UT,
and only the last time pip is heard.
Again this seems to indicate that additional transmissions in English to
the Middle East are about to be discontinued.

On July 14 at 13.30 UT still on Burmese sce 7465even and 9585 kHz til 14UT
S=9+15dB on Kiwi SDR at Hanoi-VTN; S=9+30dB in Kiwi SDR at Bangkok,
S=9+5dB fair signal at Kiwi SDR at Bandung-INS.
But at 13.59 UT also TWR IS theme heard loud and steady, heard from
TWR Manzini E'Swatini on odd 9584.981 kHz.

6195even on Fri July 14 at 22.19UT noted BBC English sce on 22-24 UT,
S=9+15dB signal strength in Perseus unit net at Delhi-IND.
Same sce on 7465even at S=9+5dB level at 22.25 UT on July 14.
11685even on Saturday July 15 at 13.32UT noted BBC English sce on 13-14UT,
S=9+20dB signal strength in Perseus unit at Delhi-IND, and S=9+25dB signal
strength at Doha Qatar Perseus SDR unit net.

SINGAPORE 12025 kHz July 12 at 1627 UT, BBC English relay for ME, S5/S8
direct and insufficient to copy on ITS FINAL DAY. Walt Salmaniw, BC-CAN
reported at 1503 UT:
"[WOR] BBC Singapore Kranji off from tomorrow 13 July 2023. Listening to
12025 just before 15:00 with the BBC bells, and then an announcement that
the BBC site at Singapore is going off the air tomorrow and will no longer
be available. They gave an internet option only. Very good into Masset-
BC-CAN, although there is a weak sounding grinding sound either from the
transmitter (I think), or another transmitter. Walt"
Kai Ludwig, Germany replies: "The exact wording: "We start to tell you
that from tomorrow we're closing our Singapore Kranji transmitter."
So much for the replacements effective 16 July, as still shown in the
public HFCC data.
So it could be that the very last Kranji transmission has already started,
even that the St Mary-le-Bow bells have already for the very last time
introduced a BBC transmission, or are they still inserted anywhere else?
Anyway: The very first piece of hard evidence at all. And perhaps the only
statement from the BBC on this matter at all. Kai Ludwig"

is always there after 0600 making a double het with CNR1/RFA Saipan.
EiBi, Aoki, HFCC July 13 and WRTH Update #15 as of July 14 all agree
on: 21-03 13590, 131 degrees from B?char; 13790 20-09, 210 from
Ouargla. And they are all wrong, quoting excessive registrations
rather than monitored usage (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Saturday July 15 at tune-in 1905 via
Argentine remote, LRA36 good S9+15 but zero signal direct, just as
they are IDing for RAE, credits mentioning the Catamarca FM station;
1907 produced segment with music background about Malvinas, etc., etc.
At 2000 still talking about Catamarca, maybe playing segment produced
there. JBA S5/S6 by 2042, local noise level undiminished, and

and everything else daily at 00-03, but now the frequency grid atop
shows WRMI-2 on 7730 with Hal Turner from System L at 01-02 Tue-Sat.
In previous reactivations for months, 7730 has not really had WOR.
