The time has finally come... After a (too...) long break, FRS-Holland will return to the airwaves next July/August. A combination of circumstances forced us to be inactive for more than 6 months. We do regret this inactivity but: with new energy we will soon return to the shortwave airwaves. Good news: all familiar FRS voices will join: Jan, Mike, Bert, Dave & Peter V. Important: our website frsholland.nlwill be off line for a while because we switch to a new provider. That implies we will build a new site starting in July/ August. At the same time you cannot check our website for the latest details regarding the FRS Summer Splash. In this mail we will supply the most important information, share it with any radio friend/ colleague! We hope those who run a blog will share the info with their readers. Thanks in advance!! FRS Summer Splash Following last year's successful edition, we hope you will also enjoy the upcoming one. Our schedule: 3 weeks in a row, a 2 hour broadcast. Sunday July 23rd 18:59- 21:04 UTC/ 20:59- 23:04 CEST Sunday July 30th 18:59- 21:04 UTC/ 20:59- 23:04 CEST Sunday August 6th 18:59- 20:59 UTC/ 20:59- 23:04 CEST All programmes will be thematic including various radio related items. Don't miss it! Frequencies Frequencies will be 6185 kHz & 7700//5800 (or 5790) kHz. Last year we experienced some difficulties with a suitable 5.8 MHz frequency, so it?s hard to give you the exact frequency. But it will be close to (or on) 5800 kHz. Streams Of course there will be streams as well in the week after the shortwave broadcasts. FRSonline.dds.net Wednesday July 26th/ Friday July 28th both from 19:59- 22:04 CEST (=18:59- 21:04 BST) Tuesday August 1st/ Friday August 4th both from 19:59- 22:04 CEST (=18:59- 21:04 BST) Wednesday August 9th/ Friday August 11th both from 19:59- 22:04 CEST (=18:59- 21:04 BST) http://laut.fm/jukebox <http://laut.fm/jukebox>Last year our streams were running on Thursday & Sunday following the shortwave broadcast. Unfortunately we haven't received conformation about dates/ times. We prefer the same schedule as last year. If so, then have a look below. Realize: it's not for sure! So listen to the SW shows for the latest info regarding Laut FM streaming. Thursday July 27th 16:00- 18:00 UTC/ 18:00- 20:00 CEST Sunday July 30st 10:00- 12:00 UTC/ 12:00- 14:00 CEST Thursday August 3rd 16:00- 18:00 UTC/ 18:00- 20:00 CEST Sunday August 6th 10:00- 12:00 UTC/ 12:00- 14:00 CEST Thursday August 10th 16:00- 18:00 UTC/ 18:00- 20:00 CEST Sunday August 13th 10:00- 12:00 UTC/ 12:00- 14:00 CEST New stickers Last but not least: there are brand new stickers available with our station logo. The local S9+10 high line noise level again blocking most DX tuning July 30 until suddenly quits at 0651*. While running, it would typically exhibit split-second breaks every several seconds; as if discharging and building right up again? Does anyone recognize what kind of device might behave thus? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Correxion: in last report about KUSH, the second time cited was typoed as 1607 instead of correct 1507; fixed: 1600 kHz, Saturday July 29 at 1506 UT, KUSH Cushing, not with ``Americana`` main music format, but story about bison, 1507 outro National Native News! ... (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. I see that the WTFDA FM Database as of July 30 still has not corrected the mistake I outpointed July 7, that 90.1 KUCO is NOT a relay of 95.9 KCSC, but vice versa. Furthermore, the 95.9 KCSC entry does not show it as a relay of 90.1 KUCO, or anything, but remarx that it is // KUCO 91.1, getting that frequency wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 11800.000, July 30 at 2239, RRI S9+30/40 into UTwente with dead air! in English. Tuned up to here after finding Turkey 11785 distortion intolerable. I guess that`s an improvement? But something`s gone wrong at Galbeni. Its other frequency is finely modulated and even stronger, 9740 at S9+30/45, going from `Living Romania` to `In the Spotlite` about the new foreign minister. Both aimed at WEu and t/hence NAm. Also Tsiganeshti VG on 9790 and 11650 for FE, all exactly .000. At 2253, 11800 is still dead; 2255 cut to S7/S8 but apparently not totally off, antenna change, soon powered back up by 2258 and finally modulating IS, 2300 Spanish. At this hour 11650 also continues but the other two frequencies change, per EiBi (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAO TOME. 9525, Sun July 30 at 2209, S6/S9 of open carrier/dead air. Nothing listed now, but EiBi shows VOA French via Pinheira at 2100-2130 on the odd schedule of Sun/Tue/Sat. Given sloppy record of USAGM wasting taxpayer money, I don`t doubt it; even that not listed by Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [non]. 15730, Sunday July 30 at 2059, surprised to encounter VOA in English here, S9+20 from Grimesland, interview but interrupted for sign-off. Both EiBi and Aoki show 2030-2100 transmission is weekends only, French on Sundays, Hausa on Saturdays. They really have a hard time co?rdinating programming with transmissioning. WORLD OF RADIO 2201 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday July 30 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+15 into Louisiana SDR, some storm noise; with opening blast of noise QRM first 14 seconds as always, followed by one more brief bit. Also I think as perpetually automated, three more brief blasts in the 0054-0055 minute. It seems both WRMI and the QRMer are satisfied with this arrangement! Never mind victimized programmers. Also confirmed UT Sunday July 30 at 0309 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, about 5 minutes into, so again started early circa 0304, S9+10/25 into nearby SDR, with storm crashes. Also confirmed Sunday July 30 at 1356 the 1330 on WRMI 9955, S7/S9 direct, no jamming audible. Also confirmed Sunday July 30 at 2021 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 kHz, S9/+10 into nearby Noale SDR, with very little QRM.
