** CANADA. 28176 MCW, Nov 7 at 2303, beacon: DE VE3TEN. Not in WI5V
list. Unusually, the carrier stays on continuously and between long
pauses, ID in MCW = A2 modulated tones rather than plain CW
on/and/off. QRZ.com:
``VE3TEN Canada flag Canada
OTTAWA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB INC.
C/O HARRIE JONES, BOX 8873, STATION A
OTTAWA, ON K1G 3J2 Canada
The club runs a 10 metre beacon just south of the city, VE3TEN on
28.175 Mhz:``

** EGYPT. 9440, Nov 7 at 2125, R. Cairo, S9+35 into UTwente talking
English about Egypt, overmodulated and distorted. Something`s amiss at
Abis, but at least there is: something. Entering 9440 into UTwente
with SynchAM displays 9440+ slightly, why? Switching 9440 to AM and
back to SAM displays usual exact 9439.995 = axually slightly lower but
rounding closest to .995 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.005, Nov 7 at 2325, VOT VG into UTwente, S9+25/35
after not getting it at all direct vs my line noise. Atop slight
CCCCCCI as usual, ending `Weekly Commentary`; 2320 with-you-every-hour
promo, music; 2331 `Turkey`s Geomarked Products`; 2333 music; 2337
always-by-your-side, music; 2343 multi-lingual ID filler reel, music;
2352 s/off more accurate than yesterday but incomplete sked voiced by
the better-spoken YL than the badax: 1330 13635, 1930 6055, 2130 7285
=wrong, 1730 9660. 2353 IS, 2356 restart IS with German IDs, 0000
opening German until chopoff at 2312.5* uncovering Chinese.
Something`s always awry at Ankara, erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 26110 FM, Nov 7 at 2300, tone not fully quiet but definite
signal, no doubt KMK282 Stockton/Sacramento. Gone a few minutes later.
Lots of 10m CW beacons such as K6FRC on 28300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2215 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday November 7 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9/+15 into Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed UT Tuesday November 7 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S8/9+10
into Missouri SDR, better S9/+10 into Louisiana SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday November 7 after 1400 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9
direct, about equeal to high line noise level. Next:

0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB
1030 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB [previous #2214]
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0230 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Thanks this week to Fred Schroyer, Waynesburg PA for making a good
deal on a needed almost new Icom ICR-75 receiver.

** U S A. Nov 7 we have almost record-hi temps into the 80s, and APRS
map at 1630 UT shows huge tropo blobs over OK, KS, much of TX as I
finally start DTV tuning. Most of the ``open`` channels from 8 to 36
have at least a BAD signal, says the Zenith STB, and some of the
``local`` OKCs are BAD due to DX QRM: RF 13, 18, 24, 25, 27. Some
decodes:

RF 14 at 1634, 13-1 KERA-HD Dallas with KERA KIDS bug in LR.
Rabbitears shows also has 3 subchannels, but when I try to reach them,
STB goes to RF 13 OKC KETA 13 instead! No problem surpassing LP OKC on
RF14.

RF 20, 19-1 KQCW OK is decoding, not unusual with a bit of tropo

RF 35, 4-1 KDFW Dallas Fox4 decodes, but again STB goes to KFOR 4 OKC
on RF 27 when I try to reach the substations

RF 36, 39-1 KXTX decodes but next time I try 36, I get KUOK ``36``, RF
29 Shawnee OK, at 1812, as I head to the car for FMDX instead, and got
some from Nebraska to Texas, not yet compiled (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK,
WOR)
