Julho: A check of the Bras?lia Kiwi SDR around 1345 UT May 28 has no
signal on 9819. Meanwhile RVM with solid reception on 9665, also
audible on 5940 and 11750 although weaker. Stephen Luce, Houston,

** CUBA. 9700, May 28 at 0332, RHC Spanish, S9+20/30, starting
`Retratos de Jazz` - that word strangely pronounced, attempting to
sound like English as it is totally unSpanish. Not found on any other
frequency in 6, 9 or 11 MHz bands, 15 unchecked; just 6000 English.
Tony Pavick has been reporting 9700 since May 23. At 0300 he recorded
announced frequencies as 9700 and also 9535, 9710. Not on 9710 and
surely never at same time as 9700. Probably off by 0400. On May 24 he
had 9700 as early as 0156. May 25: 0200-0417*. Or as he summarized in
NASWA Flashsheet:
``9700 R HABANA CUBA, 0156 to 0420, 22 May, SPANISH. Logged over
three nights
23 May: Noisy but listenable music Gone by 0400
24 May: Noted as early as 0156. Similar to previous day. Off sometime
after 0400
25 May: good signal on 9700 from 0200 forward on UT 25 May. Easily as
good at that on 11760 at times. Some really great music. News at 0400
and then during a correspondent report, carrier cut at 0417
mid-sentence. All in Spanish, as previously reported (Pavick-BC)``
Was there no sign of RRI in Spanish at 0200-0300 on 9700? And Algeria
is supposed to take over 9700 from 0300, // 9500 (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** CUBA. 15140 & 11760, May 28 at 1945, NO signals direct from RHC`s
first English hour of the day. Not much but USsigs on 19m: 15555,
15770, 15825; but close enough to RHC. The Other Side:

are really having problems: ``Glen[n], Interesting happenings today
(May 27) on WINB. They have been broadcasting a carrier from before
2100 until 2209 UT with no modulation. At 2209, a partial station ID
begin but was cut off before it finished. The carrier continued and at
2210 another broken attempt at a station ID - it was even shorter. At
2215 there was a complete station ID and then a broadcast began of a
Unity Baptist church service. Signal was 10db over S9 - 55555. Hank

Greg, Tnx for the idea. I disregarded KCTO because NRC AM Log calls it
``La Mega`` = not religious. No hits on Hosanna Radio Network - where
did you get that? There is a Hosanna Broadcasting Network which seems
to be all about TV in English. However, Radio-locator.com says KCTO is
Radio Maria - link to that website has a map of affiliates all over
world, but not in the KCTO area. Have not found a program sked. Glenn
``A medium-mistranslation on my part. MW-List has it as "Hosanna
Christian Network" (organized religion tends to muddle my brain, hi!).
Somehow I have always perceived KCTO as a Spanish/Religious outlet;
perhaps from an earlier SDReception from K.C., or a DX report from
someone, sometime. Still, as with the possibilities you listed, I

at 00.55 UT 5990even CRI LatinAM relay via RadioCuba Quivican TITAN site

forever? ZY propagation is OK with RVM 9665v audible. Manuel M?ndez,
Spain, reported May 26: "9819, R?dio 9 de Julho, S?o Paulo, checked
this weekend at different times, it seems out of the air, just like
last weekend"
