** CUBA. 6000, Aug 30 at 0311, RHC English S9+30/40 undermodulated but
readable; still no better 9700. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9790, Aug 30 at 0316, CRI English relay is very
undermodulated but more than JBM, S9+10/20. Something`s always wrong
at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 7275, Aug 30 at 0313, VOT English not off the air, ending
`Review of the Turkish Press`, ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music,
S9+30/40 direct while // 6165 thatway is JBA. As usual on Thursdays
during WOR produxion, I missed checking the 2200 broadcast; was it
off? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 353 MCW kHz, Aug 30 at 0656 UT, ND beacon LI is JBA vs HSNL,
i.e. Little Rock AR, not heard in months since winter. A sign of
gradually improving conditions. Also some other intriguing NDB
carriers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 17630, August 30 at 1630-1700, I`m monitoring the new
Friday-only Fulani language service of VOA, via remotes. At UTwente,
1629 no signal, *1630 carrier pops on at S9+25/35, and a few seconds
later, JIP modulation in progress, with some hum. At RSA SDR it`s VP
S5/S7. Then I attempt TDOA locating since the site is unknown and
still not in HFCC last updated Aug 21: at 1640, Bras?lia, Jo`burg and
Sardinia point to 33N/47E, i.e. close to KUWAIT: Kuwait City is
29.38N/47.98E. That is certainly believable. So I then check the
Kuwait SDRs: good signals S9/+15 but some fading so unseems
groundwave. 1645 another try with Maryland, Argentina, RSA: surely
extraneous showing 3N/68.5W = SE Colombia. I wanted to employ Canary
Islands but was not available until near the end, at 1655 anyway VG
S9+20/30 as would be expected. 1658 check direct just in time and it`s
a JBA carrier, so certainly not Grimesland which would have been
possible. VOA chopped in progress at 1700 to OC and off at 1700.5*. No
IS or ID at open or close, altho I do not understand much Fulani.
Others could handle it: Botswana, Madagascar, several European sites.
BTW, HFCC has 17630 registered for RMI via ISS at 1700-1800, but
nothing there. Also checked 17630 earlier at 1444, algo JBA direct
which is listed as CRI English via Mali. So what did others find by
TDOA or other monitoring? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2258 monitoring: confirmed Friday
August 300 at 2050 the 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994+,

As a non-commercial service, voluntary financial support appreciated.
Thanks this week to Robert W. Gruska, Glendale NY, for a MO to Glenn
Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and says, ``The weekly radio
broadcast/podcast and the radio loggings digest continue to be timely,
informative sources of DX news each week. Thanks for your continued
efforts!`` - one may also remit by check on a US bank in US funds to
same address.

Or via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5050, Aug 30 at 0323, JBA carrier; WRMI Legends is scheduled
until 0400 and registered until 0500. 5010 WRMI is OK, usual weak
signal. 5050 maybe dropped to exciter only. Nothing else in EiBi altho
Beibu Bay Radio, China is on 5050 a lot, not at midday there and would
not propagate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4840, Aug 30 at 0321, unusually, this WWCR is OFF. Still
going on 3215 and the dirty transmitters on 5890, 5935. Something`s
nogood at Nashville (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Aug 30 at 0700, R. Vanuatu is gone again; had been
here before and after 0700. Nor on 7890, 9960, 11835 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9970-9987 approx., Aug 30 at 0310, OTHR radar clickery
not bothering any broadcasters. I suppose the latter would be the
intruders this far out of the 31m band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
