Rebelde' stations scattered across the island of Cuba on the 1180 kHz
frequency, with the aim of inhibiting the signals of Radio Marti - 1180 kHz,
USA. As reported by WRTH 2026 and also by MWList, there are dozens of 'Radio
Rebelde' stations scattered across the island of Cuba on the 1180 kHz
frequency, with the aim of inhibiting the signals of Radio Marti - 1180 kHz,
USA. The Radio Rebelde station in question, heard on 1180 kHz in Ibiuna, is
surely the one located in the city of Marti (Cuba), which, according to data
collected, is the only one that transmits at a higher power, in this case,
using 200 kW. The others mostly use only 1 to 5 kW.
This station/frequency has been heard here before under the same conditions
with a loop antenna: frequency of 1180 kHz, Radio Marti, USA; by slightly
rotating the loop antenna (a few degrees to the left), Radio Marti USA
disappears, and a little further on, Radio Rebelde 'rises' on the same
frequency. In the south and southeast of Brazil, these broadcasters do not
compete with each other.

level ABC Deportes, XEFZ Monterrey NL. Is KSKY Balch Springs [The
Metroplex] TX, U4 7200/600 watts. Both day & night patterns have major
lobes thisaway, but seldom heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1350 kHz, Jan 22 at 0737 UT, Spanglish ``favoritos en KSDN?
13-50 AM``. It`s surely really this per NRC AM Log: KXTN San Antonio
TX, U2 5/5 kW, ``Tejano & Proud`` slogan and format. Night pattern
pulled in toward north, major lobe SE, and several minor lobes.
Suspect really on ND day pattern. It was KCOR during my stay in San
Antonio in the 1970s. Apparently first time heard here as KXTN (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
