Subject: Re: [bdxc-news] Channel 292 offering time from Monaco Media Diffusion
on medium wave at 1467

Hello Tony,
I live very close to Roumoules and even closer to Monaco, so of course I can
hear TWR very well on 1467 kHz.

Currently, the broadcasts are directed towards North Africa. But the four
antennas are rotating; until 2023, there were broadcasts in Polish, therefore
towards Poland.

Personally, I received 1467 kHz clearly, even as far away as Israel (last
December) and also Chisinau in Moldova.

I've already visited the Roumoules transmitting center, which is quite
impressive with its LW and MW antennas.

I hope you'll be able to broadcast from Roumoules; it's in France, but it's a
Monegasque frequency!

Regards, Christian Ghibaudo.

You may have heard about Channel 292 offering time from Monaco Media Diffusion
(MMD) on medium wave at 1467 kHz with a power of 1000 kW = 1 megawatt. The price
is €350 per hour, so I am saving up some money to give this a go for an
all-Europe MW special broadcast of Pop Shop Radio in April.

Here is where I need some assistance.

I understand that Trans World Radio uses this transmitter from 2115 to 2300 UT.
Are you able to receive this at your location? A few people have told me that
Iran may give this frequency some grief.

I am thinking about using it at 2300 UT sometime in April. I realise that this
would be 0000 in the UK and 0100 in Europe. There is only a 7 hour window for
booking time, 2300 to 0600 UT, so this seems like the most ideal time. Because
I recognise that people may have work the next day, I would do UT Friday or
Saturday (local Saturday/ Sunday).

To get the best coverage, I'm considering a bean that would be primarily north
east from Monaco/ France, toward the Baltics.

Any advice would be appreciated
