FT-2 is a new digital mode developed for amateur radio. Its transmission cycle
is said to be 3.8 seconds as compared to FT-4 which is 7.5 seconds and FT-8
which is 15 seconds. So it is now possible to complete an amateur contact in
less than 8 seconds. Currently, FT-8 is the most popular of the digital modes.

That?s not new spurious matter of o n e of the 5 x SW transmitters in Son
Tay.
Happened few times in past decade also.
VIETNAM 11885 kHz Some bad accompanied audio strings happened again on
the VoVTN outlet from Son Tay, French service at 1900-19.56 UT. Happened
ome ? 5 years ago in 31 mb of Son Tay TX outlet. Today heard VTN Son Tay
on exact 9730 kHz underneath CRI Portuguese on CO-CHANNEL bad fqy coordi-
nation.
11885 kHz Son Tay suffered by bad sideband strings heard and seen 7, and
9 and 17.5 kHz apart away distance on both sidebands too. 11903 kHz
approx. too. on 11895 kHz CRI Kashi in Cantonese language also covered.

(wb df5sx, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews April 1, 2025)
and in May 2021 too:

Side broadcasts from 9730 kHz Hanoi Son Tay.
Dear editors of the German broadcasts,
I wanted to let you know that your station on the frequency 9730 kHz
also has side emissions on 9704 and 9754 kHz that can be heard in Europe.
The
main frequency is currently (1850 UTC) 35433.
Best regards, Dr. Hansjoerg Biener, May 12.
Re: Side emissions from 9730 kHz Hanoi Son Tay.
Hj. These are the old Made in USSR transmitters, around 30 years old, in the
Son Tay
transmission center west of Hanoi.
One of the six transmitters has a control fault and produces
audio track strings, always 8 kHz apart,
like a garden fence ? visible on the software screen,
e.g. in the Perseus RX screen.
This has been happening on and off for at least a decade, recently more
often
in the 41 mb around 7280 kHz, but mostly in the 31 meter band,
when the 6th - faulty - transmitter is in use.
Tonight, 9730 kHz is actually covered by a 500 kW system, by CRI
Portuguese music program from the center of Kashi-Kashgar,
powerhouse S=9+50dB or -21dbm, a really crazy strong signal from
Kashgar Tibet, on the Kyrgyz border.
The German?now English?program from Hanoi Son Tay is best heard today
on 9706 and 9754 kHz, from 16:00 to 22:00 UTC;
otherwise the garden fence on both sides, shows exact transmitter strings at
the
9738, 9746, 9754, and 9762 kHz frequencies upperside,
and 9690, 9698, 9706, 9714, and 9722 kHz frequencies lowerside.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen, Dr. Hansjoerg Biener, May 12.
besten auf 9706 und 9754 kHz zu hoeren, von 16.00-22.00 UTC;

I've seen this for a few days on many kiwi sdrs. Seems in parallel with VoV
on 11885 kHz.
With strongest signal on Twente SDR but it is audible all over Europe but
barely
audible in Asia/Pacific region. Presumed to be a spur from Son Tay, Hanoi
transmitter.
As I write this I see it also on 11856.52 kHz.
