Stations heard in S?o Bernardo SP, SE of BRAZIL #468
March 18, 2026 / Rudolf Grimm
Receiver: Sangean ATS909x, C.Crane Twin Coil Loop Antenna (indoor)
* All times in UTC
* Legend: (@): Stream checked /// (tent): tentative /// (?): unrecognized,
unidentified
* Brazilian stations: all in Portuguese
* Contact: [email protected]
...................................................................................................................
** NOTE: Some stations were heard well individually on the same frequency,
using appropriately the C.Crane Twin Coil Loop Antenna. See below the 880 kHz
and 1180 kHz logs.
ARGENTINA
.. 750 kHz: Radio Nacional, C?rdoba, in Spanish ? March 17 at 0023. Broadcast
of a soccer game, with references to C?rdoba and the Independiente team. S=7.
.. 760 kHz: Radio Atlantica, Mar del Plata ? in Spanish, March 17 at 0247. Pop
rock, and a jingle ?? Atlantica?? by a female voice. S=7.
.. 1150 kHz: LT9 La Nueva, Santa F? ? in Spanish, March 17 at 0000. A musical
program, identified by a female voice 'desde Santa F?, trasmite La Nueva ',
News Bulletin, S=5.
BRAZIL
.. 880 kHz: Radio Deus ? Amor, Porto Alegre RS ? March 17 at 0302. A midnight
Prayer. References to ?Igreja Pentecostal Deus ? Amor?. S=3.
.. 880 kHz: Radio Inconfidencia, Belo Horizonte MG ? March 17 at 0310. Program
'Brasileirissima, pelos 100,9', time check, id 'Inconfidencia'. S=8. ** In link
with 100.9 MHz Radio Inconfidencia FM.
CUBA
.. 1180 kHz: Radio Rebelde, Marti (?) ? in Spanish, March 17 at 0016. Several
references to Cuba and to lower-level sports teams from that country. Checking
the stream of 1180 kHz Radio Marti USA, it wasn't that station; therefore, this
is a tentative to identify it as Radio Rebelde ? Marti, Cuba, which, within the
context of the large network of Rebel Radio stations in Cuba, is the only one
that transmits at a much higher power than the others. S=2.
URUGUAY
.. 1180 kHz: La Voz de Artigas, Artigas ? in Spanish, March 17 at 0008. Typical
songs, communication by YL, ?? Artigas??. S=7.

** CHINA [and non]. 11760, March 18 at 1356, English not RHC but
`Beijing Hour`, then ``57 past the hour`` and current temps in
Celsius; Aoki shows this is via Kunming for SE Asia, and // 11880
which is Kashi-Saiba, EAST TURKISTAN. I was checking for RHC, which
does achieve a windhowly deadair on 15140; by 1410, RHC alone on 11760
with S9 deadair while 11880 has another hour of BJ in English (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5025, March 18 at 0650, no signal from R. Rebelde, tho there
had been a JBA carrier at 2314 before sunset here. Regardless of
apagones, of course, it`s extremely unreliable (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** CUBA. 11880, March 18 at 2220 & 2227, RHC S9+10 of dead air direct;
and 11760 S9+20 of DA plus windhowl; 15140 not on (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** IRAN [and non]. 15730.08 approx., March 18 at 1447 direct, presumed
Iran International TV, clandestine Persian talk. But at 1454 into
UTwente, heavy bubble jamming, hard to separate and pinpoint
frequencies, maybe 15730.117, 15730.299 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MALI. 11975, March 18 at 2228, S8/9+10 of deadair to 2230* - That
would be CRI French via Bamako as scheduled 2130-2230 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 1700 kHz, March 18 at 0658 Spanish, ``Super 23`` or ``26``,
unlikely as ID, 0700 Mexican NA, so has to be XEPE, TUDN Deportes,
Tecate BCN, 10/10 kW. There may have been another SS mixing, which
would be KKLF Texas, but has been irregular; also English, WEUP: see U
S A (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 5140 USB, Wed Mar 18 at *1400, another weekly
OK emergency operations net, WSHM692 opening it, counting 12345,
54321, and rollcall, his name as Williams? Does not mention locations,
but I insert from previous logs:
WQYW443, Beckham County;
WQZT582, Broken Arrow;
WQSY836, Byng;
WNPV700, Durant EOC, Bill answers, L&C, no traffic;
WQYW883, Moore - JBA answer;
WNUW216, OKC;
WNUW215, Ponca City EOC, Jason answers;
KNGR728, Pontotoc County;
WPFY721, Seminole EOC, Ernie answers, L&C;
WNBM839, Stillwater;
WNCH624, Tulsa;
WNBE830, Jefferson City MO, JBA Corey answers, L&C;
At 1405, any others? One unreadable. 1406 closing net until next week
at same time 9 am Central. Then some brief informal QSOs between
WNBE830 & WPFY721, mentioning that Jason in Ponca City is a new one.
1407 WNPV700 Durant QSO another; it`s cold and sunny, until 1409
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 17790, March 18 at 1440, Romanian talk, S5/8 but
considerably off-frequency minus about 17789.96 direct; WRMI not on
yet. But at 1453 ito UTwente, rock music 17790.001+ to 1456* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690 S9+20/30, 12030 S9/+20 and 17715 S9+10/20, March 18 at
2300 REE sufficient direct on all, for token English on Wednesdays,
``live from Casa de la Radio in Madrid`` - NOT, I`ll bet, rather at
original 12? UT non-SW broadcast. The usual W&M pair with heavy
accents, his worse. Preview something about space display; housing is
problem #1 in Spain. 2301.5 news of week starting with Pres. Zelenskiy
meeting *now* [NOT] with PM S?nchez. King Felipe admits that there was
abuse during the colonial period. 2306-2309, report from Beirut
correspondent about situation there with Israeli attax. Apparently
their only regular foreign correspondent but what other SW station has
one there? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.002, March 18 at 2300, VOT JBA direct with
timesignal, and presumably English. At 2350 into UTwente when
measured, S9+35/40 into UTwente with multi-lingual ID filler reel and
s/off, IS. 2356 pause and restart IS with German IDs until 2358.6*.
Emirler'de her zaman bir ?eyler hatal?d?r (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 257 MCW kHz, March 18 at 0636 UT, tuned to 255 USB, SW,
StillWater OK near me and always JBA when operative, has CCI from
another; periods almost the same so hard to separate, but last of 3
letters is C. Only fit in RNA list is one I recognize as having heard
before: 257 FWC `Wayne County` Fairfield IL, 25 watts, period 7.2 sex
while SW is 6.12 sex (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, March 18 at 0643 UT, FBY, 50 watts at FairBurY
NE, usual dominator, has CCI from another, JBA as TOR, which is 25
watts at TORrington WY (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2338 monitoring: confirmed UT
Wednesday March 18 at 0031 on SW Radio Gold, Germany, 3975.001+, S7/S8
but noisy into UTwente.
Also confirmed UT Wednesday March 18 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+20 into
Knoxville SDR.
>From SW Radio, Germany: ``FYI: All of today`s shows on 3975 are
canceled, as we had tx failure earlier on at around 16:30 UT. So no
airing of WOR at 20:30 UT [Wed Mar 18]. Hopefully I manage to drive to
the tx site tomorrow to fix the problem. - Anyhow, I think no one will
notice - lol. Cheers for now, Andy`` - so I did not even check it.
Confirmed Wednesday March 18 at 2123 the 2100 on WBCQ, 7490 -36 Hz =
7489.964 into Maryland SDR.
Also confirmed Wednesday March 18 at 2334 the 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+35
into Georgia SDR, but with noise QRM from the plus side, like jamming?
R. Farda via Kuwait now on 9390 might be the target, but it`s not
jammmed, while adding ACI to WRMI from the other side! Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160?;
2330 UT Thursday WRMI 5950 to NNW [NEW].
Thanks this week to Martin Gallas, Springfield IL, who says, ``Glenn,
Thanks for your efforts to support Short Wave Radio all these years.
Let`s hope we all live to see sanity restored to our gov`t, more
specifically to the VOA, RFE, RFA etc.`` with a contribution by check
on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.
One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9455, March 18 at 2300, VORW International on WRMI as on
Wednesdays only instead of RAE relays. But by 2339 check, dead air
again at S9+40/50 into Georgia SDR, silencing the second half of VORW,
just as it has been blocking WOR at 2330 Sundays. When will WRMI fix
this? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1700 kHz, March 18 at 0700 UT, ``94.5`` in English mixing
with one or two Spanish. So that`s rarely heard WEUP, Huntsville AL,
``Worship 94.5`` per NRC AM Log. 94.5 is a mere translator, W233BR,
yet heading a group also including 1600 and 1190 stations. WTFDA FMDB
shows W233BR relaying WEUP 1700 with 250 watts at Moores Mill AL,
``The Heritage Station 1700 AM``, not Worship 94.5, outdated? Moores
Mill is just NE of Huntsville (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
