** CUBA. 11880, June 2 at 2201, deadair at S9/+10 from RHC where
something`s always wrong. A few minutes earlier it was very
undermodulated, sounded like someone speaking off-mike in a cave.
Nothing on 11760 or 15140 now - are they down to only one funxional
transmitter? By 2313 into Georgia SDR, 11880 is off and 11760 has
taken over the deadair duties, S9+5/15 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140 S3/S5, June 3 at 1437, RHC undermodulated, and sounds

** EUROPE. More details about my Free Radio Service Holland log on
5842, in the BDXC iogroup, June 1 at 0924: `` While I was waiting for
FRS Holland to start on advertised 5875 at 1630 yesterday, I noticed a
strong DRM signal on 5875. I was able to decipher it on the Weston
Kiwi SDR. It was the BBC WS in English, reporting on the Arsenal open
top bus parade through North London yesterday. The signal went on and
off a few times. The station relaying FRSH, which I believe was Mike
Radio, moved to 5840 before settling on 5842. The BBC test was a very
good and clear signal. Paul Watson`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 5140 USB, June 3 at 1401, Oklahoma Operations Secure HF
Test Net, NCS YL, Breanna in Edmond, is JBA opening net, 1402 first in
rollcall is Beckham County; WNPV700 in Durant, Bill, as always has the
strongest signal. I`m not attempting to log all the rollcall, mostly
with unclearly audible callsigns, but see previous reports week after
week. Another reply audible from WNUW215, Ponca City EOC, where Jason
says he`ll not be checking in next few weeks as he`s going to Ireland.
Closing net at 1407 until next Wednesday. Recheck at 1432, trace of
the Missouri net which follows (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 93.1, June 2 at 1921 UT, ad ``here in Stillwater`` -- on
frequency normally occupied by KS fringer. Yes, WTFDA FMDB shows
K226CW, relay of KOKP 1020 [Perry], Triple Play Sports Radio, 170
watts, 0 meters HAAT. Still licensed Enid 93.1 translator remains long
gone.

105.9, June 2 at 1905 UT, ``The House FM``, i.e. another Stillwater
translator not normally audible, K290BP, of KJTH 89.7, 250 watts, 83 m
HAAT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. During Es opening June 3, A rock station on 102.3 QRMing
KRMG Tulsa talk turns out to be merely KWDQ Woodward OK, ``Q-102`` at
2003 UT, weather from ``studios of Classic Communications`` at 2021.
Also a lot of disruptive airplane scatter thanks to Vance pilot
training buzzing over the city; why can`t they do that only out in the
countryside?

During barely-Es opening bandscanning, June 3 at 2148, I notice that
96.1 KXXY OKC runs promo for NBC News. That`s certainly a rare network
these days, but maybe picking up some affils with the self-demolition
of CBS. Unlike the NRC AM Log which shows all kinds of net
affiliations for each station, not just news, the WTFDA FMDB despite
all its info, ignores network affiliation info! Unless it happens to
be part of the ID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

OKLAHOMA CITY ? Leading GOP candidates in the Oklahoma governor?s race
are divided on whether they would preserve the state?s public TV
broadcasting station.

Of the four Republicans who participated in a Thursday evening, May
28, 2026, debate hosted by NonDoc and KSWO 7 News, only one gave
unconditional support for preserving the network, which provides
Oklahoma-focused educational programming and acts as a local affiliate
of the national Public Broadcasting Service.

The fate of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority is uncertain
after Gov. Kevin Stitt, who is term-limited after this year, vetoed a
bill that would extend it for another five years. After an attempt to
override the veto failed in the state Senate, House Speaker Kyle
Hilbert, R-Bristow, said lawmakers will discuss the station?s future
with the next governor.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond was the only Republican candidate
who pledged unconditionally to protect OETA. He said during the GOP
debate that public safety is his top reason to do so.

The network?s broadcast towers reach all 77 counties in the state and
are relied upon, especially in rural areas, to issue severe weather
warnings and emergency alerts.

Drummond, of Pawhuska, said eliminating state-funded broadcasting
would ?cut the knees out of public safety in Oklahoma with a
short-sighted agenda.?

?OETA is a wholesome, excellent broadcasting network that needs to be
sustained,? he said. ?I grew up with it. My children grew up with it.
My grandchildren watch it, and we?ll restore it next year.?

The station would cease to exist as a state entity on July 1, 2027,
unless Oklahoma leaders intervene in the next legislative session.

OETA, which counts 650,000 weekly viewers, will receive $2.84 million
in state funds over the next year. Stitt said viewers and advertisers
should fund the TV station, not taxpayers.

Former House Speaker Charles McCall helped override Stitt?s veto of
OETA in 2023. McCall, of Atoka, said he warned the station?s
leadership at the time about its programming, which Stitt had
criticized for having pro-LGBTQ+ content.

OETA could play a role in improving children?s academic outcomes,
McCall said on the debate stage, but it ?has got to get back to a
mission.?

?OETA would have to prove to me that they are a viable resource to the
people of the state of Oklahoma,? he said. ?These tax dollars are not
the state of Oklahoma?s. They are the taxpayers? money. Everything
must be scrutinized.?

Former state Sen. Mike Mazzei, of Tulsa, dodged answering whether he
would try to preserve the public broadcast network. Instead, he said
he would focus on eliminating the ?liberal, left-leaning radical
socialists? whom he claimed are running Oklahoma?s 541 school
districts.

He said OETA is a small state agency and is ?really not the big issue
when it comes to education in Oklahoma.?

Chip Keating, Stitt?s former public safety secretary, appeared to be
the most reluctant to continue funding the TV station.

?OETA, if it does not have a core mission, no,? he said. ?I want to
give more money back to the citizens of Oklahoma.?

Republican candidate Jake Merrick gave a similar answer while standing
outside the Cameron University facility in Lawton where the debate
took place.

Polling by NonDoc found Merrick, a former state senator, had too low a
level of public support to take part in the debate. The event required
a threshold of 12% support to participate.

Merrick, of Tuttle, responded in real time to the live-streamed debate
with a live feed on his Facebook page. He said on the stream that he
is 100% against state funding of OETA.

** SPAIN. 15500, June 3 at 2209, weekly Wednesday token English from

slightly louder toward ME; and 17715 to SAm only S9/+20 with more
fading. About security concerns during the pope`s upcoming visit, the

** TURKEY. 11660.019+, Wed June 3 at 1641, VOT English S9+25/30 into
UTwente, autonotch gets rid of hi-pitched het, and best sound at 7.44
kHz bandwidth. There is also occasional JBA chirping QRM. `Letterbox`
repeat from Sunday with Cemre starts immediately after olds, 2 minutes
earlier than originally. I just want to hear the detailed last letter
and reply, from Chris Campbell, Columbus OH, starting at 1702. 11785
at 2200 is still severely affected by QRM from 11780 Brasil. He
listens 5 or 6 times a week, and first reported the problem on April
6. Suggests he will have to depend on V of Greece instead for news
from that region [but not on SW at all]. The 0300 repeat is too late
for him. ``Israel is a rogue nation, needs to be stopped``, re Gaza.

Cemre makes usual excuse, that can`t make any change yet because
requires international coordination, and Brasil is not an HFCC member.
[Nonsense, I say, you don`t need such bureaucracy to make yourselves
audible. Brasil has been only on 11780 forever in this band, and it is
not up to them to move for one hour a day when Turkey is on 11785, and
as I keep pointing out, 11790, 11795 and 11800 are all unused.] At
1704, Chris refers to me as a best-known SW authority since 1977. He
first listened to VOT in 1991 when he was 14. How many letters a month
do they get? 60 to 70, with the most from India. Finishes at 1708. By
now it`s drifted up about 1 Hz to 11660.020+. I am beginning to wonder
why we keep trying to make VOT more audible, considering that Erdogan
is not exactly a democrat. It`s just that there are so few countries
left even attempting to reach us on SW.

11785, June 3 at 2215 check is not off the air, but JBA (Glenn Hauser,

are random longer lengths. one of which this must have been. An RCC

** U S A. 1700 kHz, June 3 at 0626 UT, weak signals only, KKLF, the
Jalapeno network station in Richardson TX, apparently off. Checking
because NRC DX News just reported: ``FCC Decisions and Applications

KTNO was the final call of the new defunct 620 station, which was
hijacked into The Metroplex years ago from KWFT Wichita Falls. KTNO
was SS:REL ``Radio Luz`` in Plano, so will it again call itself that
on 1700? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Once again sporadic E FM DX hopping mostly east of here, OK
barely on the edge. Nothing much but on 92.9, June 3 at 1951 UT into
caradio, ``From the oceanfront to your yard?, Yacht Rock, 92-9 The

92.9 THE WAVE Artist/Title Adult Hits. 1898 km/1180 stmi

Another session from 2148 to 2205 UT June 3:
96.7 at 2149, classical music in $ briefly and weakly. FMDB hits only
two on this frequency, a 10-watt translator in Merced CA, and 15.5 kW
in Maine, far out of range and PTA. I then check all the 96.7s in PTAs
of VA, NC, TN, GA, SC but see no stations which might run classical
secondarily. Ideas?

97.3 at 2150, hip-hop?, DJ Frosty? is very ``urban``; 2151 plug
Coast973.com, Cumulus, 2152 traffic report mentioning Eastman Road,
MLK, sponsored by algo in South Carolina -- but from website it`s
obviously WMNX, Wilmington NC but that`s close to and no doubt
covering part of SC with 100 kW and 269.3 m HAAT. 1821 km/1132 stmi

Subject: [HCDX] Glenn Hauser log roundup May 28-June 3, 2026

Please note and spread the word - for those not on a
list where my almost-daily all-band but mainly SW log
reports appear -- or for those who are but find this a
more convenient archive, weekly merged roundups
of all these reports in their original form are posted
early every UT Thursday via:
http://www.worldofradio.com/Hauserlogs.html

The latest one direct:

73, Glenn Hauser
