MALAYSIA[non-Sabah]. Both 11885 (RTM Sabah V FM) and 15295 (RTM Nasional FM)
are off the air on June 5,
monitoring from 0305 to 0350 UT, via Indonesian KSDR remotes; checking
online, I find no reports of a power
outage in the Kajang/Kuala Lumpur area; as for weather, I found Google
weather with "Severe heat is expected
in this area [Kajang]"; "92?F, Will feel like 106?F." Since their activation
had been on the air fairly consistently.
Alerted RTM via email that stations were off the air.
Later at 0440 UT, heard RTM Nasional FM (15295) back on the air, heard via
Bogor KSDR remote..
At about 0447 (June 5, Friday), noted the sudden start up of RTM Sabah V FM
(11885); 0500 UT, news in English;
lead story: King of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, graced the
traditional Trooping of the Colours ceremony at
Dataran Pahlawan Negara, with a military event featured a royal salute, a
21-gun salute, etc.; stock market info;
sports news; 0510, "Malaysia" song; singing jingle for "Sabah"; DJ Donny
Mapat with his "Friday Chill" midday
request program; IDs for 92.7 FM, which broadcasts from Kota Kinabalu (have
heard other 92.7 FM relays here
and they often refer to "K-K" ["It will be a wet afternoon in K-K"]).

** MEXICO [and non]. Sporadic E FM DX opening June 4 from 1711 to 1915
UT, probably missing more of it before and after that span; I had to
quit in order to produce World of Radio 2350 as I do every Thursday
afternoon. These are on the caradio u.o.s. stock Nissan Sentra, no
antenna manipulation, no RDS, no recording, no Internet access during
opening, heard with my own ears in real time, one station at a time.
To each his own, but I am bemused by other DXers into higher-tech
methods, even automatic tuning and logging, recording entire band at
once to sift thru later, etc. I am not in a rat-race to accumulate the
highest possible totals, rather enjoy the pursuit, turning my own
knobs or up/down button; more interested in quality than quantity of
logs, each one a potential learning experience. Later research in the
excellent WTFDA FM Database or beyond already consumes too much time.
I also add approx km/statute mile distances city to city, not site to
site, from distancefromto.net
As DXMAP shows FM MUFs between OK and southern CA, I start
bandscanning at 1711, but only fringe OK/KS spoilers at first. Jake
FM, the OKC on 93.3 is strangely weak and seems subject to DX
overriding, but at 1713 turns out to be OK ads and non-IDs.
96.5 at 1735, ``on KEUS``, sounds like vs the two fringe OKies always
fighting over this channel, but no even fuzzily similar calls listed.
FCC LMS shows the only real KEUS is KEUS LD [TV] in San Angelo TX.
97.3 at 1737, ``US 97`` -- again no similar calls listed. However,
this is it, extended groundwave fringe spoiler:

94.1 at 1739, clearly DX on almost-open channel, over OK`s House FM,
fading in and out, ``HappyMoney.com``, ``Star 94+``, ad for Disneyland
resort, biome. At 1757, ``Star 94-1, from the 90`s to now`` music.
Lunch break inside at 1820 I keep listening on the XHDATA D-808
portable with own antenna only, tuned to 94.1, and Star 94-1 does fade
in, even breaking into $tereo during Anderson Plumbing and Heating ad,
which chex out as San Diego; and iHeart promo
1834 back in the car, Star 94-1 about ``new algorithms``. 1837 another
fadeup with $ song; 1837 ID and that the San Ysidro border crossing is
closed. 1849 mentions La Jolla, and Radio 600 KOGO, and KOGO.com ---
all this pertains to San Diego. Still in at 1900 UT as rain has
started here.
Later seeking true identity on FMDB, my first hit is KNCO-FM in Grass

``weather from the KKM weather center`` --- No 1530s listed with any
similar call letters. Broadsearch leads to Kimberly King Media, but
apparently nothing to do with weather, and located in San Diego CA
where there is no 1530 anywhere around. Probably different letters,
but I upgive unless anyone recognize this? Far too many weather
segments give NO clues as to location concerned, stations apparently
assuming only locals are listening to them! Likely wx from a TV
station which supply such to lots of radio stations (Glenn Hauser, OK,
