I copied Night of Night for most of the evening. I started out doing
something I've never done. I had a couple hours of driving and I wondered
if I could copy it via a Kiwi SDR receiver on my phone. I had never tried
to use a Kiwi SDR receiver over internet on my phone and wondered how well
it would work on such a tiny screen. It worked fine. I connected the phone
audio out into my car's sound system to hear it the best. When I got home,
I continued listening.
One thing I missed was the benediction. Denice Stoops used to send that
every year when she was alive. It was always at 0600 UTC, I think. This
year, the transmissions from KPH seemed to just end at about 0555 UTC with
no benediction.

** CUBA. 5025, July 13 at 0134, R. Rebelde not off the air, but only
hearing background? noise, S9+30/40. Still at 0518 or maybe a trace of
music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [non]. 9490, UT Mon July 13 at 0124, I catch full ID and
schedule uttered twice from R. Rep?blica, in eastern daylight time
presumably, as in Cuba, a running dog of Yanqui Imperialism: M-Sat
9-11 pm, Sun 9-12, which becomes in UT: Tue-Sun 01-03, Mon 01-04 UT -
assuming this may be more correct than other versions? This of course
via RMI via FRANCE. Then program `Frecuencia Semanal`, S9+30, the SSOB
except for 9930 WTWW still on with S9+40/50 of TOMBStone. Indeed still
going after 0330 this Monday. Cuba kindly does not jam it (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 AM, July 13 at 0127, pirate rock music at
S9+20/30, the OSOB and still at 0141. Liquid Radio, per these:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,166196.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 94.3, July 13 at 0059 UT, Stillwater translator legally?
IDs as ``K232FI-FM and KSPI Stillwater``, rather than casual slogan of
``Pete 94.3`` which even infests 780, daytimer already off (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 105.1, July 13 at 0052, undermodulated rock music in mono
on near-local KOSB Perry, instead of stupid sports talk, but also
still // 1020 KOKP; maybe just a pause in the SBGs of `Triple Play
Sports` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, K17JN-D, Enid satellator of 3ABN, is back on the
air, checked July 13 at 0145 UT on my one TV set which can get it with
rabbit ears; could have been back for a week or more, not checked
daily as my broken rooftop antenna has remained disconnected. Looks
like same multi-channel including some audio-only lineup as before. So
rabbitears.info may now remove the X next to its entry.
Rabbitears.info still does not acknowledge that it continues to
display wrong ID as K17JI-D which is really a station in California
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2355 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
July 12 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994-, S8 into UTwente
across Europe.
Also confirmed Sunday July 12 from 2131 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
3975.001+, S9+10 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Sunday July 12 at 2330 on WRMI 9455, S9/+15 into
Knoxville SDR.
Also confirmed UT Monday July 13 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S5/S7 into S
Texas SDR; preceding preacher in Spanish cut off at 0029.
Also confirmed UT Monday July 13 from 0301.5 on Area 51 webcast only,
as WBCQ 5130- rudely cut to sign-off at 0300.00 sharp before preceding
program was quite finished, sounded like ``Idio-Audio``, with a postal
address in Toronto, back next week, Wednesday at 8pm Eastern, probably
not.
Since WOR did not appear on WRMI 5850 et al. UT Sunday at 0630, I
check what happen 24 hours later UT Monday July 13 at 0645 -- NOT
`Legends` but back to WRN.
Confirmed Monday July 13 from 1932 the 1930 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
6160.001+ S9, and 3975.001 S9+5. Next:
2330 UT Monday WBCQ 7490v or 6160v to WSW;
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5850 to NW;
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323;
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975, 6160;
2330 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2330 UT Thursday WRMI 5950 to NNW.
Financial support this week via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com:
``Thanks for doing World of Radio. It`s my weekly "must listen"! --
Tony Pavick - Pop Shop Radio``
One may also contribute by money order or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9395, July 13 at 0503, WRMI is just barely modulated, but it
sure sound like Brother Scare, as on 5920 WTWW but not synchro //.
Could BS about to make a comeback on RMI?? 9395 during this hour is
supposed to be SMTV, and usually is. BS audio on 9395 could not be due
to cross-modulation as there is no such signal elsewhere on the 9 MHz
band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. Some Es FM DX about. but not to here, despite a quick
tunearound. On 97.3, UT Mon July 13 at 0057, it`s `American Country
Countdown`, and an Upside Cashback ad, which is apparently
inter/national. Now, there`s a show which does it the right way! with
an easily searchable affiliate list:
https://www.americancountrycountdown.com/where-to-listen/
There are three on 97.3 and it`s obviously my closest one at the
timespan given: KKJQ-FM Garden City KS, Sun 6-10pm CDT. Tail on the Q
in that font is barely visible so at first I thought it were KKJO.
WTFDA FMDB shows:
KKJQ 97.3 GARDEN CITY KS COUNTRY Q 97 FM 33690 100.0 kW 244.0 m
37-46-48 100-27-36 2B62 KKJQ THE DAWG - 317 km/197 st mi - hardly ever
heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED [and non]. We have another ``Radio La Ley`` mystery, this
one on 1190, now that the previous one on 760 has been traced to KMTL
in AR. July 13 at 0525 UT as I tune across 1190 I hear ``Radio La
Ley`` mixing with weather in English about Nebraska, where there are
no 1190s. I keep listening; at 0559 Englishers are dominant with full
IDs: ``AM 1190 & $tereo 102.9`` which correlates with KVSV Beloit KS
U4 2300/90 watts; and at 0600 Catholic Radio Network, 1190 and 95.3
FM, which is KDMR Kansas City MO with EWTN, altho the 95.3 is not
shown in the NRC AM Log.
The Spanish station never heard with any specific ID but frequent
announcements between Mexmx songs by SHVA = super-hype voice actor,
promoting it for covering El Mundial 2026 such as at 0602; ``a todo el
mundo`` at 0632, 0635. A fuller non-ID at 0641, ``La Tremenda, somos
la autoridad, Radio La Ley``. These are on my E/W longwire, so at 0648
I get a rough DF on it with the handheld DX-398: ENE/WSW. 0652,
``RadioLey.com`` - that is HQ in Culiac?n, Sinaloa, where there are no
1190 stations, and has a listen link which does not work:
http://172.16.119.17:9123/Culiacan
I was suspecting Ley be a network feed deliberately avoiding any local
IDs or references. But I had already searched the entire IRCA Mexican
Log, where the word Ley does *not appear even once* in the entire
document, leading me to figure it`s a USA thing.
Who we are from the website: ``nosotros -- Radio Ley es una empresa
punto de venta.`` -- that is plenty vague, but does refer to NW
Mexico. Apparently whether the ``La`` precede Ley is not significant,
as it may be seen or heard either Way.
Unless there have been a total linguistic rebranding, this may be a
case of some US station already SS, of which there are four on 1190
per NRC AM Log:
KNUV Tolleson AZ U4 5000/250, La Onda
WPSP Royal Palm Beach FL U2 690/410, La Primera
WLIB New York NY U4 10000/30000, La Exitosa 98.7
WJPJ Humboldt TN D1 420, La Poderosa {sic}
My DF would apply to any but the one in FL.
XEPZ in Ju?rez would be a likely source by proximity and direxion, if
it`s no longer ``M?xima 99.1, tu Estilo de Vida`` -- another
possibility: Radio (La) Ley is plugged into as an overnight filler by
stations still known primarily as something else. Ideas? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6900-LSB, July 13 at 0128, Spanish `peskies`` saying
this is a good place for principiantes = beginners; but some
talkovers, not hearing each other, or not courteous. Presumably
Mexicans (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 9050 AM, July 13 at 1445, S9+25 open carrier, no clix
audible and does not end in -6. I often tune this range listening for
the `Presidential pirate`` on 9025, unheard for long time. Off by next
check circa 1915 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 21417 approx., July 13 at 0115, extremely distorted SSB
signal I cannot resolve by LSB or USB tuning back and forth. Suspect
it`s someham, not necessarily local, putting out a third harmonic from
7139, not checked (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
