** EAST TURKISTAN. 9685, July 13 at 2215, Chinese music fluttery S9/+10. Yep, it`s another CRI `Portuguese` broadcast, this one via Kashgar. At least they keep up the years-long tradition of musicking instead, while Cuba fails to do so at 2300 on 13650 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This is the only somewhat unusual log in over an hour of bandscanning for sporadic E, which never quite reached here. Maybe extending even further if not overtaken by line noise level, but it`s terrible closer to 9930. Some QRM to 9955 WRMI and potentially to 10000 WWV. Also with the parasitic spurs including readable modulation at 9917.1 and 9942.9 kHz, i.e. plus/minus 12.9 kHz which also applies to other frequencies when employing the same transmitter, such as 5085 or 5920. 9930 fundamental is S9+40/50. I notify WTWW ASAP about this advising turn down the modulation level. By next check at 0007 July 14, the splatter has diminished and the parasites are gone, so may have swapped transmitters; but I still would not want to be within 30 kHz of 9930 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, July 14 at 1449, no signal direct from WRMI. Propagation degraded but not that much. At 1509, also no signal into Maryland remote so off the air; nor 7730. But 9395 is audible. 15770 is on at next check 1836 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1200 kHz, July 14 at 0700 UT, Spanish music about equal level to WOAI with C2CAM; whatever became of the original ``clear channel``? Surely WRTO Chicago, U4 20000/4500, not with TUDN sports at this hour. Surely on day pattern and probably power, with major lobe to SW, rather than night pattern going mostly north (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. re La Ley, 1190: ``I'm not much help on this one, except to agree that this is almost certainly a US station. The only two Mexican AM stations I've ever noted using the slogan "La Ley" were XEGS-610 and XESD-1530, both over 20 years ago. I looked at the two Arkansas stations on 1190, but neither of them are co-owned with the company that operates the two "La Ley" stations in Arkansas, and I haven't seen any compelling evidence that either of them has changed format or slogan recently. That being said, Arkansas stations are not exactly known for good web presence. I see that KREB's old "Red Dirt" web site is gone, and based on a few quick searches this afternoon they don't seem to have created any online presence for their "Ozarks 100 FM" re-branding, so it might be worth looking into. https://amdxer.com/ambc/ lists KREB as regional Mexican "Radio Éxitos," which is interesting. KREB has also been reported as staying on after hours as recently as May.
