** CUBA [non]. 15140, July 28 at 2208, algo JBA, as I frequently check
RHC channels for reactivation. EiBi & Aoki show nothing but RHC at
13-20 & 00-06, but Aoki adds VOA in Korean via Tinang, PHILIPPINES at
22-05 M-F and both have Algeria at 07-19, My belated annual 26 de
julio parody salute to Cubans considering escaping: ``Patria o Suerte,
¡pensaremos! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 17545, July 29 at 1549, S9/+20 into UTwente, marine weather
for yacht racers to Azores already finished, playing fill music,
medley including ``YMCA``, ``Girls Just Wanta Have Fun``, ``Who Let
the Dogs Out?``. 1556 YL quick goodbyes in French and English, bit
more music, 1558 to open carrier. Seems still carrier as late as 1610
but only S5/S6, something else? Others report no longer on // 7340,
unchecked here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 5140-USB, Wed July 29 at 1401-1408, Oklahoma
Operations Secure HF Test Net, WFPY721, Ernie in Seminole NCS with
rollcall, all 4-letters + 3-number calls as in many weeks of previous
monitoring, altho some are not even called this week: Beckham County,
Broken Arrow, Byng, **Durant EOC, Bill L&C, **Moore, Gaylon, **Ponca
City, Jason is asked what his antenna & radio are but is new, doesn`t
know; *Pontotoc County, Pottawatomie County, Stillwater EOC;
**Jefferson City MO; 1407 closing to 1408* -- *replied; ** and also
audible by me (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27184.89 AM, July 28 at 1450, Enid CB pirate this time
relaying 105.5 K288FX `K-Love` with ``Amazing Grace`` but checked just
in time since chopped off at 1451*.

27185 AM approx., July 29 at 2324, S9+30 local CBer with horribly
distorted singing - or maybe really a relay since there be
instrumental accompaniment. Cuts off now and then but a weaker steady
carrier remains S8 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. Hoping for some sporadic E hopping into here,
but only hit some unusual groundwaves into caradio UT July 29:
103.9 at 2338, ``Arkansas`s Country, Kix-104``: KKIX Fayetteville, see
yesterday`s log.

96.5 at 2341, Spanish is JBA in CCI from the major Okies in Elk City &
Tulsa, could be Es? Can copy occasional details: mentions Colombia;
2342 ``Bienvenidos a Cuéntame...``; 2346 fade up a bit, something
costs ?25 centavos por galón, so that makes it a UStation. 405 AC
phone number; 2355 ``La Chopa?? 96.5 FM, time check of :54. 2356
``Ritmo 96.5``; rhythmic music past 2401, July 30 UT, 0003 Spanish ID
but no copy. Does not benefit from several Vance airplane scatter
flyovers, rather blasts up the CCI. Thought it might be from a
contiguous state, but even closer obviously when later uplooked in the
WTFDA FMDB, after QRT due to 100-degree heat in and out of the car, so
this I had not heard before:
K243BJ relayof:KRXO-FM-HD3 96.5 OKLAHOMA CITY OK CONTEMPORARY HIT
RADIO RITMO 96.5 139283 0.25 kW 302.0 m 35-24-54 97-30-32 Spanish 3F48
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500, Wed July 29 at 2200, REE token English, S9+5/25 into
Maryland remote, only slightly weaker on 15520 & 17715, infinitely
weaker on 15390, previewing content. Both Daniel of the heavy accent
and Alba of the lighter accent, at breakneck pace, trying to cram a
week`s worth of material into less than an hour. Continuous musical
background, and I wonder if the tempo of that influence their
talkrate? 2202.5 news, leading with wildfires of course; 2216 then to
Americas: Fujimori Jr. becomes pres. of Perú despite sins of Fujimori
Sr.; EQ toll in Venezuela reaches 5K. 2218 Beirut correspondent on
some kind of holy trail ``path of peace`` being developed in Lebanon,
like Spain has. 2224 refuge for those displaced by fires. 2250 recheck
something about AI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, July 28 at 2158, VOT IS & English IDs, S9+10/20
direct vs S9 HNL, so better than usual, and not off the air. Brasil is
also absent from 11780.

11785, July 29 at 2200, VOT not off the air, accurate timesignal
audible direct; 2226 amid `Letterbox` repeat with some OTHR clickery
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 750, July 29 at 0642 UT, S9 of dead air, presumably WSB,
more likely than it being totally off and something else open carrier
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1030 kHz, July 29 at 0646 UT, romantic song in Spanish
atop something in English. There are too many USA SS: in CA, FL, MD,
MO, NC, TN, TX. If narrowed to `romantic` format only, it`s WONQ
Oviedo FL. In Mexico, XEQR CDMX and two others may exist (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 28340.06 USB, July 29 at 2320, QSO in very colloquial
Spanish, one very strong the SSOB and contacts much weaker. Never
understood any callsign or clue to location. I`ve heard these before
around this time and frequency. They obviously know each other, so why
ID? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
