** CANADA. 6754 USB, Aug 4 at 0641 UT, Trenton Military with VOLMET
finally back on night frequency instead of 15034 USB day frequency at
night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9902.056+, Aug 5 at 1753-1800+, open carrier, but with some
hum/roar/whine especially on the upper side, S9+20/30 into UTwente.
WRTH shows Turkish had been scheduled at 17-19 via Abis site. Not
audible direct at 1845, but still into UTwente at 1853, 1904, but goes
off 9902.060+ at 1907*, and already on 9892.061, S9+20/30, as soon as
I can retune; there still past 1932, 9890 being the scheduled Russian
service from 1900. All following this tip:

``[WOR] EGYPT - Back on air - but still zero modulation --- It appears
that the Abis transmitter had not shut down for good sometime in mid
April. Starting August 1, I hear them again daily on 9872 at 15:00
mixing with CRI China, producing a heterodyne. No programme heard -
just "dead air". 9902 heard around 17:45 only on August 1 and again on
9902 at 17:30 tonight. 9892 on August 1 from 19:00. So far, no
transmissions have been heard later in the evenings. I still wonder
why they bother to come on air at all. All those kilowatts are just
going to waste. Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 5140 USB, Wed Aug 5 at 1407, awaken just in time to hear
Ernie, WFPY721 in Seminole closing the Oklahoma Operations Secure HF
Test Net after 5 OK checkins and one from Missouri; vs HLNL as always
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27184.7, Aug 5 at 1446, S9 open carrier from Enid CB
pirate failing to modulate with a local FM station relay. By 1847 is
S7 open on 27184.58; at 2050, 27184.57 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500 > 17715 > 15520, Wed Aug 5 at 2200, REE accurate
timesignal, and opening token English hour, all VG direct, with Alba
and Daniel. Previews: Ceuta migrant rush; interview Barcelona expert;
anti-smoking bill not yet approved by parliament; fashion at M?laga.
2202.5, News of week, leading of course with Ceuta: Pres. S?nchez
visited the next day, July 31. Most went back to Morocco but some 2000
remain, eligible for asylum from wartorn areas. Opposition calls it an
invasion, an act of war, tolerated by the government. There have also
been some attempts to get into Spain via the Balearic Islands. {BTW,
when this broke, I heard an American network TV news correspondent
with a Spanish name, mispronounce Ceuta as if were spelt Cueta!} 2208,
wildfire fighting. 2209 International scene: blame Morocco or not?
Repercussions in the EU, vs Spain, notably Italy, but it`s accused of
similar problems with Lampedusa. 2214 sports: synchro swimming,
cycling, La Vuelta de Espa?a. 2216 culture news: actor Manolo Solo
dies at 62; used hoarse voice in a role, sample clip. Flamenco
guitarist Jos? Antonio Carmona2
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepe_Habichuela
dies at 82; 2218 fashion show in M?laga museum, interview with
Pilar... (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, Aug 4 at 2158 & 2206 direct, NO signal from VOT. Nor
at 2241 into UTwente. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. But Aug
5 at 2158, is on, S9 = noise level, so IS & ID JBA direct (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2358 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
August 4 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994-, S7/8 into
UTwente, S9+8 into nearby Noale SDR, where I also check for anything
on 918 or 207 kHz - not. Are these ever on anymore experimentally?

Also confirmed Tuesday August 4 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10 into
Bonaire SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday August 4 from 2330.8 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
3975.002-, S8/S9 into UTwente.

Also confirmed UT Wednesday August 5 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+35 into
Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday August 5 from 1930.8 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 6160.000-, S9+15/20, and 3974.998-, S9+5/20 into UTwente.

Also confirmed Wednesday August 5 at 2335 the 2330 on WRMI 9395,
S9+30/35 into Georgia SDR. Next:

1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 6160;
2330 UT Thursday WRMI 5950 to NNW.

Many thanks this week to John P Lutz, Shorewood IL, N9JL, for a check
on a US bank, to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702; and says,
``Thanks for your dedication to our hobby. Many people throughout the
country (and world) follow you. We're all grateful for your summations
of HF and MF activity. Please don't retire.``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, August 5 at 1842, surprised to find JBA carrier
direct, must be WRMI during usual mid-day hiatus, test? At 1855 into
Georgia SDR it`s S9+25, slightly stronger than 9395, S9+18 with
programming. At 2049, 9955 is off, but by 2055 back on with IS & ID
prior to resuming at hourtop (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
