Trenton Military ID at 2318 with mis-time as 2315Z (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR) Another CHR? See OKLAHOMA
** FRANCE. 7340, Aug 16 at *1500, S6/S8 into UTwente, carrier cuts on
with pulsing like bubble jamming, transmitter defect, gradually into
Mini-Atlantique theme music, 1502 M in French with marine weather for
boatrace. Again NO signal into Azores on former // 17545. I suppose
these will resume in Sept/Oct for the bigger race to Guadeloupe (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 780, Aug 15 at 2319 UT, KSPI Stillwater is OFF, as often
the case long before this daytimer`s local sunset. Presumably still
``translated`` on ``Pete 94.3`` which sometimes I can hear depending
on how strong the CCI from Kansas be. The real KSPI-FM, with totally
different programming at full 16 kW power is always audible on ``Hot
93.7`` --- not to be confused with ``Hot Country 93.7`` = KAIR Horton
KS, nor another Hot 93.7, WZMX Hartford CT. But to it, Hot means
Rhythmic CHR, while to KSPI it`s merely Hot AC. Isn`t all pop music
rhythmic in one way or another?
And what exactly is the dividing line between CHR and AC? If you
thought CHR means contemporary hit radio, no, per NRC AM Log it means
``Top 40 Rock`` while AC is ``Adult Contemporary current hits``. So
CHR is not for adults? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 11970, Aug 15 at 2314, S9/+10 in Spanish about nataci?n =
swimming; it`s RRI, one of few signals from Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** TURKEY. 11660.023+, Sun Aug 16 at 1637, VOT English, S9+5/20 into
UTwente. Tough copy this time, constant squeal which will not be
notched because is not het but rather in own modulation equally
LSB/USB. Narrow bandwidth less than 5 kHz helps a bit, but needs less
that 2.5 kHz to get rid of it completely. There is also a low hum/roar
to make it even worse. News by Efsun always hard to understand even
with clear reception. 1643 music. They now identify the tunes, even if
we can`t understand it.
1649 `Letterbox` starts with theme, Cemre hosts. Something about 10th
of August. 1) Mr Francis --?, Dublin, listens on balcony. 2) India,
Annan Bane, pres of SWL club which started 15 Aug 1990; will continue
contests, mentions FDCs. 3) Finland, Tampere? 4) could not even catch
location. Now it`s 1700: 5) W Bengal, Mr Namajadeen or something like
that, with a listeners club. 6) Someone with an SWL QSL museum online,
*warning* about severe QRM to the 2030 English on 9875 - per EiBi that
would be North Korea. What do you bet TRT do nothing about it? 1705

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2360 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
August 15 from 1930.7 on SW Radio Gold, Germany, 6160.001-, S9/+20 and
3974.999-, S9+10/15 into UTwente. Last week something else ran.
Not confirmed the 1930v Saturday August 15 from WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
no signal above summer noiselevel into the 5 closest SDRs, nor around
2000; but likely did air.
Not confirmed Saturday August 15 at 1930 on WRN via WRMI, since 9395
is still off the air! Ditto at 2100, so that`s three 9395 airings
missed today. 9395 however on the air by 2315 with a preacher from
Australia.
Confirmed Saturday August 15 at 1930 on WRN North America stream; and
at 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Also confirmed Saturday August 15 at 2334 the 2330 on
IRRS/IPAR/NEXUS/IBA webcast only.
Also confirmed UT Sunday August 16 at 0156 the 0130 the WRN North
America stream.
Also confirmed UT Sunday August 16 at 0311 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
S9/+10 into N9AZZ remote, about 2 minutes into so the 0315v started
circa 0309.

The Sun Aug 16 at 0930 on IRRS SW via Romania on 9510 not audible
direct during a momentary wakeup; zzzzz thru the 1030s on WRMI 9395 &

** U S A. 15770, Sat Aug 15 at 2309, WRMI with VOSR International, the
DX program from Hawaii, said recorded Aug 3, so he didn`t know about
to be hit by hurricane now. About some program via Taiwan at 02-04 on
5995 = daytime. Nothing then in EiBi or Aoki. Catching up on mailbag
with Malik from Pakistan. Also // much weaker 17790 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** U S A. 780, UT Sun Aug 16 at 0538, WBBM with `Stardate`, as runs
approx. an hour earlier than Tue-Sat at 0640 UT. Likewise UT Mon?

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Aug 16 at 0559 UT, no signal from KLEY - or rather
no modulation, because ID fires at 0600 UT for ``Thunder Country, KLEY
1130 Wellington and KKLE 1550 Winfield``; and into music. 1130 is
certainly not *one watt* as licensed rather than 250 watt day-power.
The excellent new NRC AM Log for 2026-2027y, compiled by Wayne Heinen,
received Aug 14 does not show these two as // or even related. The
KKLE 1550 entry shows it in the group ``The Rock of Kansas`` and TRoK
entry on page 285 does not include KLEY, just 1340 KSEK and 4 FMs. It
does have 1130 KLEY as ``Thunder Country`` along with translator on
104.1 which is totally blocked here by OKC. I seldom hear 1550 KKLE at
night, which is U1 250/52 watts. However, Aug 16 at 1618, KKLE is
audible and *not* // 1130 with different musix. So maybe they join
only overnight when KLEY is cheating? Radio-locator.com does show both
owned by My Town Media, but 1550 as ``Bluegrass Express``, It also
shows KLEY Wellington with an address in Wichita, but KKLE Winfield
with an address in Wellington! All this needs a *lot* of unravelling
