pointless relay of CRI Portuguese hour of music-fill instead (Glenn

** GERMANY. 3955, Sat Aug 22 at 2100, Channel 292 with `Uncle Bill`s
Melting Pot`, a last-minute notice came of a make-good repeat; VG
reception via UTwente, a bit of fading during second half. Music from
some exotic places, such as Comoro Islands, Djibouti. But seems at
least half the time is interview about rather than music itself. Hard
time understanding the names, but this was the promo:

Not confirmable on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, the 1930v Sat Aug 22, nothin`
but noise into nearest remotes in IL, TN, let alone St Louis.
Confirmed Saturday August 22 at 2008 the 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Not confirmed Saturday August 22 at 2100 on WRMI 9395, tho on the air
at 1930, now it`s OFF, as it was at earlier check 2023, and later at
2127. I hope it stayed on until at least 1959!
Confirmed Saturday August 22 JIP at 2332 on IPAR/IRRS/NEXUS/IBA
webcast only. Tuned in at 2328 to hear `Counterspin` promo twice, or
was the program just starting? Anyhow, dead air at 2331, cut to WOR at
2332: sorry about that: I certainly would not treat Counterspin - or
any other neighbor program that way; and vice versa. The program sked
merely shows for 0100 CEST Sundays, `United Nations News`, 0130 WOR.

0654/0700: 5850, 7570, 7780, 9395; but at 0704 a JBA carrier on 9955!
which is supposed to be off at this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. 17790, Sat Aug 22 at 2219, this WRMI is off, but
15770 remains with RTI in Spanish; 16m does JBA propagate 17715 Spain,
17675 New Zealand. By 2300 recheck, 17790 is now on, VG in French,

** U S A [and non]. 9455, Aug 22 at 2227, JBA carrier, much too weak
for WRMI, less than 9955 but infinitely more than silent 9395. What
else is on 9455 at this time? Nothing per EiBi but Aoki shows
2230-2256 *jammed RFA in Chinese via TAJIKISTAN, but M-F only and this
is Sat: maybe just the jammer, just in case. At 2300 on 15770, `VOSR`
in CW, opening show of same abbr., claims to be also on 9455! NOT;
however by 2306, 9455 is on with beepery not // 15770. I.e. the real
`SW Radiogram` as sked on System D. The VOSR surfer guy says this show
for Aug 22 was recorded Aug 6 on Oahu, where he was temporarily due to
wife`s medical treatment, to return home to Molokai. Did not say
anything about hurricanes or even typhoons. And at 2306, 9395 is still

UNIDENTIFIED [and non]. 5990-6000, Aug 22 at 0604 into Azores SDR,
``rough noise`` I have been hearing direct after 0600, now also via
this remote, sounds very loud but only S7 on meter, suspected MALI
5995 transmitter out of order as no sign of it normally. Also direct
at 0635 S9+20. Need also to check in local evening span 18-24 UT; and
whether it ever occur on day frequency 9635 between 08 & 18. Not yet
audible into Azores at 1805 Aug 22, but 5995 is at 1910, regular
Bambara? modulation, not rough noise. 2007 French. Mostly clear music
2336-2400* sharp, S9/+15 into Azores. Another unlikely? possibility:
QRM/jammer at 0600 persuades ORTM not even to turn on their

UNIDENTIFIED. 18985 JBA carrier and stronger open carrier 18965, Aug 22
at 2303 direct. I routinely include this almost ignored SWBC band in
scans but had not heard these carriers for long time. Not in Aoki, but
EiBi has 18985 as CRI DIGITAL = DRM? at other hours but nothing on
18965. Band otherwise populated by Sound of Hope and CNR1/Firedrake
jammers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
