** CANADA [and non]. 346 MCW kHz, Aug 25 at 0625 UT, not a trace of
YXL, Sioux Lookout ON, my best Canadian NDB, while several US JBAs are
detectable, e.g. 400 AHQ Wahoo NE. Hope it`s just condx rather than
YXL closed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13650, Aug 24 at 2340, two chimes looping over & over, at the
rate of 26X per minute, S9/+10 into Maryland remote. Continues past
2400 with no break, past 0010 Aug 25. Off by next check 0040.
Normally, the relay of CRI in music fill instead of Portuguese would
have much more variety and some kind of announcement before closing.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba - or in ChiCom`s feed from

** CUBA. 5990, Aug 24 at 2341, a few syllables of Chinese? mixed with
music, in a loop repeating every two or three seconds, same feed
problem from Beijing as on 13650 q.v., with different music. Still
going S7/S9 into Maryland SDR past 2400 at 0041 Aug 25. Something`s
always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15140, Aug 24 at 2209, S9+10 open carrier direct, so strong
must be RHC for first time in a long time; or is it JBM? Into Maryland
SDR at 2338, S7/S8, deadair except for rustling sound. Next check Aug
25 at 1435, 15140 is on with windhowl into Georgia SDR. Recheck at
1503 just in time before cuts off at 1504*. Nothing heard on 11760 or

** OKLAHOMA. 740, Aug 25 at 1659 UT, KRMG Tulsa, ID as KRMG on 740 &
102.3; 1700 ID as only ``102.3, Tulsa`s News & Talk`` -- too noisy
near my computer to hear 740 on the ATS-909, but I know 740 puts a
bigsig also into OKC, almost local-quality with 50 kW direxional at
about 100 miles - yet the Kiwi in OKC is not hearing it at all! None
in Tulsa, but the one in Republic MO is getting it well. Checking
there because of this:

Zoellner Media Group will swap the frequencies of Hot AC ?Mix 96.5?
KRAV Tulsa and News/Talk 102.3 KRMG-FM Sand Springs OK on Monday,
August 31.
As first indicated in our 7/3 Domain Insight, the move would shift the
News/Talk programming from the 50kW Class C2 102.3 signal to the 100kW
Class C 96.5 facility. The company adds that the change reflects
Zoellner Media Group?s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality
programming while adapting to the evolving needs of listeners and
advertisers. By optimizing signal coverage and positioning, both
stations are poised to expand their impact and accessibility
throughout the region. The company did not mention the future status
of KRMG-FM?s simulcast on 740 KRMG Tulsa.
Owner Dr. Robert Zoellner said, ?We are always looking for ways to
better serve our listeners and our community. This frequency
realignment allows us to strengthen our signal presence and ensure
that both Mix and KRMG are positioned for continued growth and

News/Talk 740 KRMG/102.3 KRMG-FM Sand Springs OK simulcast to the
stronger 96.5 signal currently occupied by Hot AC ?Mix 96.5? KRAV
Tulsa at the end of the month, the company has announced it will begin
to separate the programming on KRMG in order to carry Dallas Cowboys
football on the AM half...

The bigger story is about kicking ``Mix 96`` out of 96.5 as KRAV for
KRMG, instead of on 102.3 - but not quite yet. 102.3 is only 50 kW at
150 m from Sand Springs suburb, call already KRAV-FM per WTFDA FMDB
while 96.5 Tulsa is 100 kW, 453 m, already called KRMG-FM but as Mix
96.
FCC LMS as of Aug 25, thinx KRMG-FM is still the call on Channel 272 =
102.3:

yesterday, with IS & ID loop leading up to programming at ToH. Earlier
at 2212, 9455 bore a JBA carrier while 9395 was S9; as before, nothing
else sked on 9455 until 2230 RFA Chinese via Tajikistan, so maybe

** U S A. 9930, Aug 24 at 2213, TOMBS on WTWW, the other transmitter
with modulated discrete spurs on 9917.1 & 9942.9, S9+30/40 on 9930
where it`s ovemodulatedistorted; and splash roughly 9910/9960 QRMing
WRMI also with a het stronger than 9955 about 9955.87 which computes
as another 12.9 kHz above the 9942.9 WTWW spur; however, no match
around 9904.13 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17525, Aug 25 at 1905, S7/S8 preacher, WMLK finally heard on
top frequency. Was under impression they weren`t using it much, unlike
15150 regular in the mornings except Sabbathdays.
Both 15150 & 17525 are registered as 300 kW at 53 degrees for CIRAF
27, 28, and 39 = western & central Europe, Turkey and Arabian
peninsula. So why aren`t they on the higher frequency over a full day
path from our mornings to their afternoons, and one band lower for our
afternoons to their evenings? Propagation 101, or are they really
shooting for off-the-back coverage across North America? (Glenn

** U S A [and non]. 730 kHz, Aug 25 at 0643 UT, non-English,
non-Spanish, and surely Korean, i.e. KKDA Grand {Metroplex} Prairie
TX, U3 500/500 watts. Also maybe a hint of French which would have to
be CKAC Montreal, U3 50/50 kW. The point is, not a bit of XEHB Parral
Chihua2 which dominated 730 at night for some months March 30-July 16,
when it must have been powered up, 50 kW day power instead of 1 kW
night and/or more favorably direxional. XEX is hardly a factor on 730

** U S A. ``Glenn, regarding KGOW 1560: The call and Gow Media come
from the company?s founder David Gow. The KGOW call goes back to 2007
and his purchase of the station, which was originally a sports format
before being brokered out for the Vietnamese programming in 2017.

First guess would be WIJR Highland IL, except no such slogan listed
for any USSS on 880 per new NRC AM Log; nor in new IRCA Mexican Log
where there is only one 880. Guess what, broad search on slogan and
frequency leads directly to my logs of year *2019*, that WIJR was
``La Primera 880 AM, La Raza`` but now is supposedly ``La Tremenda``
instead. Attempting to hear in daytime circa 16 UT Aug 25, via nearby
remotes, none of them are getting it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955.8, Aug 25 at 2214, het to WRMI, and this time a JBA
weaker match on 9904.2, i.e. second-order spurs out of 9930 WTWW,
plus/minus about 25.8 kHz, twice the usual +/- 12.9 kHz stronger spurs
which also are audibly modulated with TOMBS on 9917.1 and 9942.9 which
rate S8/9+10. Except when modulation pauses at 2215 or 2216 when I
find that 9930 itself hits S9+50. Also some splash if not splatter in

** U S A. 17525, Aug 25 at 2202, WMLK is still on with DEJOM
preaching, S9+20/30 direct, and at 2221 about threats to free speech
like in Nazi Germany, on the Sacred Name Programs. I`m sure I had not
been hearing it in routine bandscans after 2200, tho sked until 2230;
after which may or may not descend to 9275. And so they had by 2340

** U S A [non]. Uncle Bill replies to my comment about all the talk
rather than music during last UBMP: ``Glenn, Thank you for your
sacrifice. :) People who want all music all the time can go to Spotify
etc. and get it squeaky clean without context. Call me old school, but
I still believe that when radio goes off the beaten path, composers,
performers and producers should have their say when practical (It
often isn't.) If I helped inspire some listeners to go find more of
