The meaning is simple: the person who say it is giving relevance/importance to the place mentioned with pride or because it`s his home land or have some affiliation with the place, or is giving a compliment; sometimes they salute someone on the audience that give live feedback to the show via internet like "Pavel reports listening on SW 11930 from the Independent Republic of Camagüey" As to give importance or relevance to the place the listener lives, as a compliment. A personal appreciation as a long RM listener (like 30 years) The discourse of Radio Martí has moved from separatism and direct calls to action in the past times to more informative and "show the fact and reality", the days of direct confrontations are over. For direct confrontation you have Radio República from France that now I realize, long time no heard of them. About the two transmitters on each band, it seems an overkill, but not. Cuba is 1200 Km long and narrow strip of land and the skip on the 11-14 MHz bands is from 400 to 1600 km as per propagation models under normal conditions, so even you can have silence zones, and I have experimented that everyday. With the Tecsun PL880 I sometimes listen to both signals on the same band and one is barely audible and the other is blasting with almost local AM quality, if they transmit from the same location, then the antenna orientation is the culprit. If they transmit different freqs on the same band from different locations, that makes sense. Cheers.`` Since the three 7 MHz band frequencies evenings are registered as same azimuths within one degree of each other, that should not be the case.
