My original suggestion was sort of tongue-in-cheek and I am not so sure
it would be a good use of WV time... ;-] But, just imagine Linux news
articles if it could be done. It just might generate curiousity in
GT.M and to a certain extent, VistA. Mostly it would just bring it to
a larger audiences attention. I repleat with old harware (i.e. devices with a few GB drives) thatcouldbe used for a similar process--without having to defeat the original purpose of the hardware. If they had more RAM, it seems it would be really slick. But MUMPS and Linux don't need much RAM.... ;-)Not to say that the device doesn't look super cool, and it would be a cool hack. Kind of like getting vista to run on an XBox.Right. Coolness is the main point. Imagine pulling out this little tike, attach a notebook drive in an external USB 2.0 case and demo CPRS from a client... ;-) Frankly, though, you would probably kill the 'sale' since it would be viewed as a 'toy'. So... best to keep it amongst the diehard faithful.... ;-)kdtop --- Greg Kreis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Okay, folks, here is some red meat for the WV meeting coming up in October... hack this thing to run VistA on an attached Flash drive or a USB 2.0 external harddrive..... ;-) Google turned up a community forming around it...
