Ages ago, the only security we had was FileMan file level security so
"@" was programmer access and "#" was decided to be system manager level
access. Letter codes were associated with applications, so "S", "s"
were for scheduling where lowercase was higher level (I think) than
uppercase. You will find "L" for Lab, "R" for radiology, "P" for
Pharmacy etc.
Each user was assigned a string in file 200 (File #3 back then), so you
can have a user that has "Ssd". This user string was checked against a
File's protection string. The letter codes are no longer used but the
"@" still is.

Each user has
FILE MANAGER ACCESS CODE: @// ??
This is the string that is put in DUZ(0) for use by fileman
to check file and field access.

Each file has

DATA DICTIONARY ACCESS: @//
READ ACCESS: #//
WRITE ACCESS: #//
DELETE ACCESS: #//
LAYGO ACCESS: #//
AUDIT ACCESS:

I do believe it some sort field or file access. You can give any field
in any file a lock such as "#" and only users you have that "#" access
can add, change, delete data to that field. I can't seem to find any
documentation on it, does anybody else know where it is?

Thanks for the info. I'll try that.

As I was looking through ^VA(200,*), I notice that some users have "#"
for the Fileman access code.
Also, I have seen "SDsd#"

What are these codes?

Thanks
Kevin

Access code is field 2 and verify code is field 11.
Assign yourself XUPROGMODE as a key, that should clear up the security
problem, make certain that you have @ as you fileman access code as
well.
