Agree, though "out of the box" must move quickly to a value product. There
has been some comment that the user has to be the controlling factor in the
interface. To some degree that is true, though "user" needs definition - is
it the owner-user, the data entry staff, or the management - a difficult
question. 

I ask new staff what they expect their salary will reflect. The answer is
almost universally - work. I don't intend to pay for work, that's their
first orientation. What I will pay for is value. Work can become serious
waste, when it contains errors that have to be re-done. Ignoring efficient
entry technique creates little value. Weekly staff meeting agenda lists
value as the first topic.

VistA is a value added product hard to replicate in our market.
