RFP - Request for Proposal a procurement term used to solicit Suppliers for products and services. This is an ASTM standards found in the vol 14.01 of the ASTM Book of Standards usually located in technical (sections of) libraries. It was put together by the American Association of Transcriptionists and is included with other Electronic Health Record Standards that apply to VistA.

I have just gotten around to looking for this file. I
can't find it. Is it on the VistA Documentation
Library web site?

You may want to look at ASTM -1959 Guide for RFPs
for Medical
transcription serices as well as other medical
transcription standards.

Does anyone know how the transcriptionist
crediting
system works? In the TIU parameters, there are
settings for the number of characters per line,
and I
am assuming there is functionality for measuring
how
much a transcriptionist types (i.e. the number of
lines). This is typically how they get paid.

I think I could write my own system, but would
like to
use the existing one if possible.
