Nancy,

A thought.... let's see if we can engage the Lazarus development community to help with this.....it would be a very high profile win win.

Delphi 7 is getting increasingly hard to get and will not be supported after December 2005. It is only available now as an add on with the purchase of Delphi 8 as $1000 for the Professional version, and I believe that will not be sold fairly soon as Delphi 2005 is what is being sold everywhere now although Borland did not give me a date for the dropping of support for Delphi 8. Both 8 and 2005 are .NET versions and the VA is not going to go to .NET with Delphi for CPRS.

Lazarus (http://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/) is cross platform (Fink (Mac OS X), All 32-bit MS Windows (95/98/NT/2000/XP), All BSD Platforms (FreeBSD/NetBSD/OpenBSD/Apple Mac OS X), All POSIX (Linux/BSD/UNIX-like OSes), FreeBSD, Linux, NetBSD, OpenBSD, OS X) , has a component library on Sourceforge here http://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus-ccr/ ,
and has other projects that are related on Sourceforge as well and I don't think it is .NET.

Lazarus is apparently the reason that Kylix 3 is not going to be continued on into other versions by Borland. In view of the difficulty with getting 7 that so many are having an the pending possible explosion in interest in VistA with the release of VistA-Office, with its Delphi 7 CPRS, I see a definite value in perhaps migrating CPRS to Lazarus. I do not know enough about Delphi to know if this is too daunting a task to take on.

Would one of you Delphi gurus please consider taking a look at this?

What version of CPRS will go with VistA-Office?
