Ewaen,  I don't know of a parameter to disable the MPI query.  The query may be bypassed at different levels in the code.  One way would be to add a QUIT command after MPIQ^MPIFAPI, e.g.

MAY05>ZP MPIQ:MPIQ+1
MPIQ(DFN) ;MPI QUERY
Q  ;Non-VAMC, Do not try to connect.
Be sure to include at least 2 spaces after the QUIT command if appending a comment.

Or one could skip the call to CIRN in routine ^DGREG (equivalently, QUIT at CIRN).  Similarly, skip calling ROMQRY to suppress displaying the message "Data retrieval from LST site has not been successful."

Probably a better solution is not to use the VA patient registration option, rather to acquire or make your own custom registration option, such as has been described previously on Hardhats.  VA patient registration includes many data elements that are not of general interest outside VA, and omits elements that may be important in non-VA settings.

Subject: [Hardhats-members] how does one edit the routine that contacts the MPI in TX?

Thanks Lloyd,
How do I stop the patient registration program from contacting austin, TX.
I'm running a test installation on Windows first before i begin trying out VistA on a Linux Distro.
I followed the instuctions at the Geocities site and got stuck when it came to locating the RG_1_0.KID. since the CIRN is already installed then it is a good thing i could not complete the process. So now, where do you find and how does one edit the routine that contacts the MPI in TX ??
A hyperlink to the instruction of how to do this will be great...Kevin, anybody?.

Ewaen, The "Clinical Info Resource Network - RG" package (RG_1_0.KID)
is =
already installed in VistA, as distributed in recent years.  It would
be =
a mistake to install it again, as the installed version includes =
patches.

That having been said, VistA packages and patches may be downloaded
from =
ftp.va.gov/vista/ under Software/Packages/...  The KIDS prompt "Enter a
=
Host File: " wants the path where the downloaded package or patch was =
saved, for example, /home/vista/downloads/RG_1_0.KID or =
c:\downloads\RG_1_0.KID.

That is the process, but normally you would only install a new patch or
=
package, not one that is present in the distribution.
