Alberto; MUMPS is one of the easiest languages to learn. What you are looking at are the MUMPS routines.
Being an interpreter, the commands can be executed one at a time from the command prompt within the interactive environment. after each command, you have the opportunity to see what the result is. You can write a string of commands and execute the code immediately and see the results (or why the code did not work). Development is usually very quick and there are few commands and a number of powerful functions that lend a great deal of power to the programmer in very few keystrokes.
