I see what you're saying. It is certainly true that Mailman has no trouble *transporting* multipart/mixed messages. If GUI mail is able to actually generate them, then I was mistaken. The code I saw (which may not be the same thing) only added UUENCODed data to message *inline* (i.e., not as part of a multipart/mixed messsage).
