Simon and Jean -- Welcome to the online worldwide VistA community!
VistA is written in MUMPS and Cache is just one implementation of MUMPS. If you want a complete VistA based open source Free software (FOSS) stack, go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/worldvista and download the latest OpenVistA VivA or OpenVistA VivitA GNU/Linux live CD/DVD. Burn the downloaded ISO image and boot it for an instant VistA system. Caveat: getting VistA up and running is the easy part. The much harder part is getting VistA configured. Start at http://openforum.worldvista.org/wiki and be prepared for a long, albeit interesting, journey.
